—The process of France acting in their interest, helped us get a start. —

Don’t ignore the big picture. France was an empire. And empires ALWAYS fall, sooner or later. And as for French assistance, my point was WE DID NOT NEED THEIR HELP.

You don't know much about the American Revolution, either.

Franklin's negotiations, and the victory at Saratoga resulted in substantial French assistance in money and materiel. Not to mention the French attacks on British interests in the Caribbean. The French troops that landed in Rhode Island (and eventually wound up at Yorktown) and the French Navy were just the final efforts at assistance.
