In Venezuela, Land 'Rescue' Hopes Unmet Farmers Struggle on Expropriated Plots (Chavez fails!)
Houston Chronicle & Washington Post ^ | 06/21/2009 | Juan Forero

Chávez's so-called back-to-the-land movement calls for the redistribution of land -- increasingly properties that the state has taken over in what officials term a "rescue" or "recuperation." The objective is to ensure "food sovereignty," thereby reducing dependence on imports.

But nearly five years after the measures were implemented nationwide, farmers and agriculture experts say, Venezuela is not only far from self-sufficient in food, but also more dependent than ever on foreign countries. Food imports rose to $7.5 billion last year, a sixfold increase since Chávez took power a decade ago.

I cannot but believe that the human consequences of these actions are a matter of indifference to both men.

Nor do I. In fact the consequences will be the intended consequences: The redistribution of wealth as defined my Marxist thinking.

I DO believe that Obama sees the wealth of the United States as a means to redress past actions and create "equality". His mindset has been cultivated his entire life by Marxists and statists.

I wrote a thread about how Obama sees his life and the responsibility he believes he's been given.

We're also doing away with the unnecessary giveaways that have thrown our tax code out of balance. I said this during the campaign, I'm now saying it as President: We need to stop giving tax breaks to companies that stash profits or ship jobs overseas so we can invest in job creation here at home. And we need to end the tax breaks for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans, so that people like me, who are extraordinarily lucky, are paying the same rates that the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans paid when Bill Clinton was President.

From this thread.

Occasionally he lets the truth slip out. He does not believe that wealth is created - it's either stolen or misplaced into the hands of the "extraordinarily lucky". Hence the need to redress that and what better way to insulate yourself from the pain of redistribution than to be the one in charge of it?

He and Chavez think a lot alike. "Let's redistribute the wealth and let's be the ones doing it."

Obama is also a purely narcissistic creature that lives to see himself in the pool of water known as the media.

Is there any doubt in your mind that Obama thinks both shadows on the wall behind him belong to him?

It's an interesting world. There seems to be a resurgence of the dickcissel population. This is a sparrow sized bird, looks sort of like a meadowlark. It sits on rural power lines or fence posts and sings a song which to some people sounds like its name. It seems to nest in grassy areas along roadsides or in meadows. It also seems to be quite spread out, not living near neighbors.

Wintering, however, is different. They gather in large flocks in Venezuela. Sometime in the late 20th century large agriculture projects plowed up much of wintering territory of this bird. The flocks of millions ate the crops. The farmers sprayed the crops & a good percentage of the dickcissels died. I think there were some efforts by bird preservation people to compensate the farmers for their losses, but I do not know how successful they were. Maybe the Zimbabweization of Venezuela has been favorable for the survivability of these birds.

Your post especially your photo recalls an article entitled,Understanding Obama: The Making of a Fuehrer (http://www.faithfreedom.org/obama.html) which was the subject of an interesting thread just before the election. On first reading, I had dismissed the article as one in a series of polemics and which one side of the political spectrum seeks to convince the world that the champion of the other side is mentally deficient. We had seen this practiced too many times by the Democrats.

In September, I thought Obama was better explained on ideological rather than psychological lines. In other words he was an ideologue, a Manchurian Marxist, but not necessarily crazy. Yet the points made by the author of this article are cogent and events are bearing him out.

I invite your attention to it.

Here is a thread that I posted which is a video/oral of Dr. Ali Sina's thesis.

Does Obama Have Narcissistic Personality Disorder? (YouTube video explains Obama to a tee)

I have been sending links to others about it. I couldn't agree more that Obama's ego will lead us to ruin if left unchecked.
