Read my post 59 about why I believe it’s good news that CNN is doing such a good, wall to wall, reporting
I started watching the CNN coverage this morning when Fox & Friends was doing their normal fluff.
Sure they have had Amanpour on but they also had a former Iranian politician (didnt catch his name) and a former advisor to the Shaw, some Iranians living in the US who are following developments and even reporting on the criticism of Obamas response.
Like you, I dont care for CNN but I was impressed with their coverage this mornin; uncharacteristically well balanced.
You are preaching to the choir when you are talking to me. :o)
I have been following the events in Iran, and the sufferage that the students and other freedom seekers in Iran have been going through, for over 10 years now. This is sadly not a new thing to see playing out for me.
When I was watching it they were saying the crowds were small and the authorities won.
I smacked the noob pretty good myself.
Thank me!
I bet the WH is scared to see an uprising of a people over rigged elections. Hmmm.
Point noted. THANKS!
Fox is devoting the rest of the day to the protest!! I refuse to tune to CNN...NO HELL WAY!! Fox is going good!!
Thank you.
Ah, you’re just tryin to hit on the hot Iranian freedom babe!
>;)
5 years is close to half the age of FR... old enough I would say.
I didn’t see a sarcasm sign. Are you kidding? I flipped through today, just in time to hear them blaming the PROTESTORS for the violence. I was at a non-political blog, and the liberals were enraged over CNN’s coverage for slighting the protestors.
LOL!
Look, of course they’re a left slanted, obama supporter, network but that’s all the more importance of what they are doing today. Intentionally or not they are whipping up the importance of the events in Iran in the general public which would never take anything the right would way seriously. I have been mostly glued to my computer but I still impressed by their wall to wall coverage and they’ve had all points of view represented.
That’s interesting. I was flipping around earlier today to see what was going on. Most stations were talking about the rioters, and how much danger they were in, and obviously were supportive of their plight.
CNN had Christine Alamanpour (?). Her report was, as I remember it: The tear gas is only being shot at their feet, there aren’t nearly as many protesters as they had called for, one of Masousi’s (?) aides supposedly told the CNN sources that he had begged Masuosi to tell the protesters to stay home for their own good, thus putting blame on the opposition leader for the carnage, and reporting basicly from the pro-Iran-government perspective.
Maybe they got better during the day. They certainly do ‘cover’ things more than the other stations.
