Obama's Doctor Knocks ObamaCare
Forbes ^ | 6/18/09 | David Whelan

Scheiner, 71, was Obama's doctor from 1987 until he entered the White House; he vouched for the then-candidate's "excellent health" in a letter last year. He's still an enthusiastic Obama supporter, but he worries about whether the health care legislation currently making its way through Congress will actually do any good, particularly for doctors like himself who practice general medicine. "I'm not sure he really understands what we face in primary care," Scheiner says.

Obamacare is not health care. It is social engineering.

I read the article. He wants Obamacare to be even more extreme. He wants single payer. Sounds like a black docotr. Says doctors make too much money.

Non-story to me.

Yeah, they had some female “doctor” on FNC this morning whining and crying about this same thing. For some reason, the idiot believes that free healthcare is a “right.” Weird. If healthcare is a “right” why is anyone required to pay for it? If it’s a “right”, it should be a “no payer” program and these knuckleheads should be providing healthcare to everyone at no cost to anyone.

Liberals believe that we live in some sort of Utopia ... life should be simply perfect. To that end, they want free healthcare because it sounds wonderful.

They NEVER bother about how to pay for things.

Musings like that and you’ll burst their self-righteous bubble. BTW, I’m going to push for software development and pc repair to be a right. Of course it has nothing to do with my career. I just care so much for the people.

Once you add up up the entire scenario put forth...there has to be one basic outcome to every American...but it has nothing to do with improving the medical care for the eighty percent who currently have it...it’s the extra $1,500 a year that most families who make $60k to $80k are going to pay for someone else and their lifestyle.

One of the top five complaints within the German universal healthcare program is that a guy maxes out on his contribution (and his companies) at two kids. The third kid and all those behind him...add no cost onto his bill. The cost comes out of the big bucket which everyone contributes their money into. The public looks at large families of six kids now...and they will openly comment on this when they see a large family. It is a fairly unfair provision of the plan but face it...a typical working class forty-five year old German guy barely brings home $2,000 (even though he might be making $4k a month before taxes). Everything adds up and you simply can’t afford more costs on anything.

Applause for this doctor — telling it like it is. I have heard other doctors say the same thing!

Of course it won't do any good for doctors. It's not supposed to. It's not going to do much good for the patients, either.

If will only do good for those politicians who wield the power.

He’ll be under the bus soon, marked with the scarlet letter of confusion and dementia.

I’m really begining to not like “the most corrupt administration ever”

If it were a right, people would be doing procedures on themselves and self prescribing. They would still need to pay the pharmacists for the drugs however, unless they made them themselves. Maybe it's time to plant a willow tree.
