Sign up. Find people/groups to "follow" (ie. go to http://www.twitter.com/Jeff_Head) and click "Follow" under the pic. Start posting comments in your "What are you doing Box". That is a "tweet", you can use commands (like @username message) to post to specific people, or like (#discussionname message) to post to discussions.

It gets quite addicting. Live feeds, unedited news from around the world. Use common sense and be careful and it is surprising how much you learn.

And, the more you tweet under that time zone and location (+3.30 GMT Tehran) the more you will confuse the Iranian government goons and shield the Iranians trying to get the word out.

Perhaps because we often have better access to inside Iran and also have the experience to be able to proffer solid opinion based on the knowledge and expertise we have acquired in some 25-years living there - pre-Khomeini.

This little tidbit heartened me most,

HOT NEWS- A senior Revolutionary Guard (Passdar) spokesman has let it be known that his men would not kill or harm fellow Iranians and apologized for any physical damage done so far.

Now I have to ask, was Khomeini (and his successors) Persian or of Arab descent?

Identity in the region has been confusing since the Silk Route days.

INFOBOMBING THE MULLAHS

Something has been bothering me.

Snide remarks have been made. . .by cynics, by mullahs, by ali Hussein's confused and disoriented winged monkeys, by the shrieking fairies and the carping harpies of Orwellian Media:

I submit there is a night-sweat with the ghosts of Nicolae Ceausescu and Benito Mussolini doing a tango for Khamenei and Rat Boy.

If it makes no difference--if it makes no difference--why then the Tiananmen-like crackdown, the media blackout, the Supreme with the trunks sitting on the tarmac with a fresh Depends--

They smell it.

I believe this thing is outrunning the "candidates". The many, many young people (and a lot of the older ones too) of Iran want freedom, not another puppet to tyranical Islamic rule.

I believe we could see the birth or republicanism in Iran, but it may very possibly become much more bloody before it is over. The Basij and many in the Revoultionary Guard are not likely to go quietly.

The key is, "What will the regular Army do?" And will they (say, Like Washington) be willing to take part in ending the Islamic tyranny and then hand it over to a new, true Republic?

At this point, the people may noit accept anything less.

One thing is sure...it is Bush's direct engagement, support of liberty, and policies that are driving this. Still bearing fruit. Obama is trying like crazy to spin this to his advantage, but we cannot let him lie and try and steal it. His policies would have made this impossible...just as they would have made Iraq impossible.

For years I was dismissive of all the "The revolution in Iran has begun" threads. I took a lot of heat for my skepticism. I always said though that as soon as they start for real they will have all my support and prayers.

Well, they did start for real and they do have all my support and prayers.
