I will participate in the demonstrations tomorrow. Maybe they will turn violent. Maybe I will be one of the people who is going to get killed. Im listening to all my favorite music. I even want to dance to a few songs. I always wanted to have very narrow eyebrows. Yes, maybe I will go to the salon before I go tomorrow! There are a few great movie scenes that I also have to see. I should drop by the library, too. Its worth to read the poems of Forough and Shamloo again. All family pictures have to be reviewed, too. I have to call my friends as well to say goodbye. All I have are two bookshelves which I told my family who should receive them. Im two units away from getting my bachelors degree but who cares about that. My mind is very chaotic. I wrote these random sentences for the next generation so they know we were not just emotional and under peer pressure. So they know that we did everything we could to create a better future for them. So they know that our ancestors surrendered to Arabs and Mongols but did not surrender to despotism. This note is dedicated to tomorrows children
They may be powerful on the Internet over at Google, but they are seriously left.
I have a better idea, maybe you should arm your self and kill those sons of bitches before they kill you. Cowards have no problem killing unarmed civilians, but like all bullies they turn and run in fear at the first sight of their own blood. Dead martyrs are useless.
Wow. I can’t seem to come up with words to express how much I respect the Iranians willing to fight this fight.
I hope they dont expect assistance from the US because its not coming.
These people are doing what they can to fight for freedom.
I sense that Google will help out because they know that with the Islamofascists, they being liberal will be the first ones killed.
Wish we had sent them guns. Lots of guns. That’s what they need. It’s a shame they’re going to go face-to-face with Imanutjob’s henchmen unarmed. That lunatic has no qualms whatsoever about killing as many people as needed to achieve his ends.
The wild card is going to be the Iranian Army. Many of the conscripts in the ranks are the friends and relatives of the people doing the protesting. All it will take is one officer deciding to leave the armory door unlocked...
I did not join the Hallelujah chorus on this deal.
I think that unless there is a real revolution, then they get Iran/Mullah light.
I am also aware that some of these people, or at least their parents and grandparents held American citizens for 444 days.
Even if they were not in the embassy as such, thousands were in the streets screaming for death to America.
I remember.
5:30 PM ET -- A woman weeps. Two Iranian-Americans send over the transcript, posted below. "Had tears in my eye while doing it," one wrote.
These are the offspring of the same assholes that were screaming Death to America during the Carter Administration.
They are perpetualy pissed off Moslem savages who can’t currently blame America for their problems nut will have no problem doing so again at the drop of a hat
Mohamadans and the west are not compatible and they will never leave us in peace
One of the most amazing things of this Green movement is that HuffPost has covered it so well. Normally, I’d never be caught DEAD at the HuffPost. Then there’s Andrew Sullivan...
I’ve been pleasantly surprised at HuffPost’s coverage as well. I think they see the rebels as “progressives”. Perhaps they are. I think a lot of them just want to be free.
After 30 years of living under an Islamic theocracy, I'm hoping that what we're seeing is a bunch of young people who are sick of it all.
Another twelve hours or so and we shall see what will come to be.
The Bush Doctrine is sprouting green shoots.
PersianKiwi (among others) is reporting that cell phone text messaging service is back. My suspicion is that the govt wants to find out who is going to send pro-rebellion messages, so they can be put on a list to be dealt with later.
Me, too.
