You wrote***More than likely, you didn't pay enough to cover the "free" education for your children. Most people don't. You would have had to have paid approximately $10,000 every year for each one of your children in school taxes alone (not including the other taxes). ***
I have a flash for you, all my kids are in their 40's and 50's and I am 70 and still paying taxes to the schools...
Been paying school taxes since I was 20... We all end up paying more than just the education of our own kids by the time we die. We also pay for all the teachers second vacation homes....

My daughter sent her 3 kids to a highly rated private school and it didn't cost anywhere near 10,000 a semester or year...And the majority go on to university....they learn, they were not babysitter like teachers do in the so called public school...My son sends his 2 boys to a christian school, very good school, for a fraction of the 10,000 dollars that were talked about..public schools stink for the most part, but some have a few good teachers..

Those are good points, goat granny. You do continue to pay and pay, long after the children have graduated. But, not everyone pays more in the long run. Plus, the cost varies state to state.
