== “...Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday demanded an end to street protests...” ==

Unbelievable. The arrogance of tyrants knows no bounds.

Some towns had voter turnouts of over 100%. They’re as shameless as ACORN!

I hate to pessimistic but until they rid themselves of the main problem, Islam, the people will continue in their misery. I don’t see a change acomin’. This will end up in a mega-Tienanmen like ending. The people will face the gallows, beheading, prison and stoning... like all good infidels deserve. The mullahs are EVIL, EVIL, EVIL. This is just another chance for them to enjoy bloodletting.

Any info if when the protesters storm the Basij centers they are able to obtain arms and hide them?

Is it just me or does anyone else think that maybe the Iranians look at Iraq and see what they have now, and say “I want some of that”.

This was a discussion many years ago when the Iraq thing was going on. The consensus was that it would take years before we knew. Bush would be long forgotten before the ramifications of giving Iraq a chance at freedom were manifest.

So the Iraq decision will either turn out to be a colossal failure or brilliant. Of course one can be sure that Bush will never get any credit if it works out for the best.

There’s not a whole lot of info coming out right now. These mullahs seem to have put a stranglehold on news. I’m sure that CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC etc.. really aren’t interested in finding out anyways. We’d have to watch the BBC or something like that.

I watched and listened to the last hour of the speech by the exalted Iranian poohbah. He mentioned "that Clinton woman's husband burned 80 people from the Davidians in a house in Texas and the americans have no business talking about human rights to us".

He also gabbed on about the foreign spies whipping up the crowds of protestors and that all Iranians are too good to fall for this interference from foreign devils.

The man is another Hitler/Geobbels combo.

The onehundred thousand souls in the auditorium with him were more or less his cheer squad. Every few sentences they would 'spontaneously' erupt with chants and cheers.

It is painfully obvious that the Iranians have no mechanism for expressing themselves to their dear leader.

To sum up his two hour speech: "I am your leader, it doesn't matter who is president, I am the leader here."

Obama NEEDS a hardline Iran to play against Israel.

Yep. Obama need the crisis. He also needs a formidable enemy to give him underdog status. Ahmadi makes the perfect villian.
