We have more coal than all the other countries on Earth, combined, IIRC. Also, we have oil shale, offshore oil and gas, and we invented nuclear power, yet haven’t built a new plant since the 1970’s. It’s not that we don’t have energy, it’s that we are not allowed to go after it and use it.
