Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) to a General at a hearing yesterday: "Do me a favor," she said. "Could say senator instead of Ma'am It's just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I'd appreciate it, thank you."

So General, go ahead and call her "Senator".
Man, how petty and and pathetic does she look next to that General Class Officer. She’s whining about being called ma’am and she doesn’t have the decency to address him as sir or general.
Her little fit is insight into the fevered thinking that passes as liberalism. She views herself as the intelligentsia sitting at the top of the food chain and the general is despised while the rest of us are simply tolerated.
The movie was "A Few Good Men". Cruise played Navy JAG officer, not a run of the mill "government lawyer". Demi Moore also played a JAG officer and Kevin Bacon played the Marine JAG who was prosecuting the Marines who conducted the "Code Red", at the behest/orders of Nicholson's character.
Of course, it goes with being a US Senator. With very few exceptions.
How about...rhymes with runt, stunt and punt?
The arrogance of those in government are limitless.
OMG, she looks like a meth head addicted prostitute.
A snitty bitch.
In a way, Boxer is right. Why should he call her ma’am? Doesn’t look like one to me.
Correct procedure is an intitial "Your Majesty", then “ma’am” for the remainder of the conversation. Any more is considered gauche.
Queen Bitch Ping...
YES!
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING!
Only worded so much more politely than I had in mind:
A four-letter word ending in - UNT, and it ain't AUNT, Babs, you wrinkled hag!
(202) 224-3553
and press "1" to leave a general comment!
It's checked regularly, HER MAJESTIC blank-YNESS assures us!
Saying something like that to a General? She worked so hard???
That’s a stupid statement. The General was not elected... he worked for his “title”. She campaigned, ate lunches, went to meetings and kissed some constituent fannies. Maybe she would have felt more respected if he had called her sir.
She’s a poser. (insert the letter “L” where appropriate)
This is what you would expect from the most stupid human being to ever walk into the Capitol Building. It is a basic part of military culture to say “sir” and “ma’am”. No way would anybody as stupid as a rock (no insult to rocks intended) ever understand this. Boxer is a freaking idiot. End of story.
Unless we all take to the streets soon Obama will be demanding we call him your highness..Now he has “news” stations operating from the White House.Get it yet folks, see whats happening here?
I didn’t think so ..............................
We have trash like Boxer running the country ..Anyone up for taking it back..?
Convicted Traitor.
I always thank Barbara Boxer for making me a conservative.
I went (really just stopped for a few minutes on my way home from work) to a outdoor Dukakis rally in the late 80’s in San Francisco.
Boxer was there speaking, and I was amazed at her hatred and vitriol.
Hey Barbara, you just lost the respect of most people who were watching. It is never a good thing, hon, for you to be snarky when a person is treating you with the utmost respect.
LOSER Mam/Senator
The general also said “sir” to every male senator he addressed. I’m sure it was a mix, but I’m guessing it was in response to questions. “Do you like Washington, DC?” Answer: “No, Ma’am.”
Not only is it more conversational, whereas “senator” gets overly repetitious, it is also what our military are trained in. Yes sir and No Sir. Yes Ma’am and No Ma’am.
