Is their going to be any type of meet and greet for Freeper's that are not going to the convention?

I have reserved 2 rooms for the group I am bring. However, would love to meet other freepers.

I am not purchasing a convention ticket, tapped out on the travel and rooms.

I am sure there will be gatherings and we Freepers will be pretty easy to spot. Perhaps between now and September you will manage to purchase a ticket that will include the Friday evening candlelight vigil with food, Saturday morning breakfast, Saturday evening banquet with speakers, and Sunday workshops. See you in DC! :)

Check out www.hotwire.com there were rooms at this hotel for as little as $79.00 last time I checked.

At what hotel were the rooms as little as $79.00? Thanks for letting us know the name and location of the hotel with rooms for that rate.

You have to check on hotwire. Looks like the cheaper rooms are largely gone now though. There are 4 star hotels in Tyson’s corner for $77 right now.

For someone who is not attending the convention you sure spend a good amount of time bitching about it.

It is my understanding that Tyson’s Corner is an hour away from DC. I looked on Hotwire and it is strange that it is hard to find the name of the hotel. Adding up the cost and difference on our fantastic group rate, I rather pay a bit more and be with Freepers right where the action is. Know it is going to be a great Freeper convention and we all will take part in the Tea Party events during the day on 9/12!

“...I rather pay a bit more and be with Freepers right where the action is...”

That was my idea too but...It is difficult going with children in tow because there are no discounted banquet tickets and I would hate to leave the older kids stuck in the hotel room when they could be hearing some good oratory.

My almost 13 year old girl is super-interested in politics and reads Human Events and TownHall but multi tickets gets to be pretty expensive thrown in with all the other costs. Of course it is much cheaper than CPAC. I’m still smarting from going there wallet wise.

I don’t have a good handle on the DC demo on the 12th. What is the agenda? Who is in charge?

There are many grassroots groups and organizations that are planning various events for Saturday 9/12 throughout Washington,DC. Some are still in the planning stage lining up speakers and entertainment.

Our National FR Tea Party Convention events are planned around the Saturday events, which allows Freepers to attend various events during the day on Saturday 9/12. We will be hearing more about the various events that are planned so Freepers can choose the ones they wish to attend.

Here is a link that shows some events planned for other days including that Saturday 9/12. A schedule of events for 9/12 will be posted once the plans are firm and we have the information.

"That was my idea too but...It is difficult going with children in tow because there are no discounted banquet tickets and I would hate to leave the older kids stuck in the hotel room when they could be hearing some good oratory."

Children under 10 are not allowed to attend the Convention Banquet. The Convention Banquet would not be appropriate for children under 10 to attend. Children are welcome at the other events, and we are working on a discount ticket for children.

I realize many of us are tightening our belts and many are having difficult times right now. I certainly understand what is involved in bringing a family to DC. Perhaps between now and September things will work out for you so you can make it to DC for the weekend and Freeper Convention. I know Americans from across the country who revere our Constitution and freedoms are doing everything they can to make plans to show up in Washington,DC for 9/12/09! And thousands of Constitution defending patriots from all across America will be there!

When we heard that our own JimRob was going to be on the Tea Party Express Caravan from California to DC, Brytani and I started talking about wanting to go to DC too. We had had such a good time at the Florida Freeper Convention in Orlando this past April, that we decided to see how many Florida Freepers would join together to go to DC for 9/12.

When Brytani put out the post about going to DC and booking the same hotel, we received a great response from Florida Freepers. She then asked JimRob about opening it up to see how many Freepers from across America would be interested in joining us. JimRob said go for it!

Now you know the rest of the story! The response was so great from Freepers across the country that we now have our first National Free Republic Tea Party Convention planned around the 9/12 March on DC!

Freepers from across America will be there to defend our Constitutional freedoms and make our voices heard with thousands of other American patriots! And to have a National Freeper Convention at the same time is a huge plus! Getting to meet JimRob and being in the company of Freepers from all across the US will be an event no Freeper won't want to miss! I truly hope you can make it to DC with your family for the 9/12 weekend!:)

I fly for business maybe 6 to 8 times per year. When I first moved to Longview I occasionally flew out of GGG. I soon found, however, that as often as not I could leave just as late if I drove to DFW and took a direct flight as I could by taking one of the 3 (now 2, I believe) daily flights out of GGG, making a connecting flight, and going wherever I need to go.

Besides, I kind of enjoy that 2 1/2 hour drive. I listen to Patriot channel 144 on my satellite radio, smoke a cigar.....it’s actually fairly relaxing.
