CNN: Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday on a visit to Gaza that he had to "hold back tears" when he saw the destruction caused by the deadly campaign Israel waged against Gaza militants in January. Carter was wrapping up a visit to the region during which he met representatives of all sides of the Arab-Israeli conflict.

I don’t think I have any tears left.
I don’t think anyone gives a dam what Carter thinks...1/2 the population doesn’t even know who he is..the other 1/2 don’t care.
Hold back tears. Give me a break. When did he turn in his testicles for cryin’ out loud?
Good to see Carter cry. Here’s hoping he gets to cry many more times.
Crocodile tears, huh, Carter? Spare me your twisted anti-semitism.
The Gazans cannot run a greenhouse, much less anything else and have been educated only in Jihad in general and Jihad against Israel in particular.
The Israelis gave them large, expensive, fantastic producing greenhouses several years ago. The Palestinians gutted them instantly.
Carter did not cry over their self-induced ignorance, but that is liberal thinking.
I share your pain, and beg to revise and extend your remarks to cover the period from January 20th, 1981 to the present and beyond.
I’m not going to say it, but you know damned well what I’m thinking.
Carter should stop trying to be Secretary of State.
What was Israel to do, let Hamas bomb them until the end of the world without responding.
If Israel wanted, it could exterminate everyone one the West Bank and Gaza. Have they? Nuff said!!!
I guess at his age Carter has trouble holding any form of water.
It’s the 1/2 that don’t know who he is that’s got us into this freaking mess.
I hold back tears watching the mess that Carter helped make out of Iran.
He’s a pathetic fr*ggin’ excuse for a former President!
Atta boy, Jimmah, hold back them tears bravely now. Them Palasstinians will make a man outta you before you know it. Big boys don’t cry, Jimmah, hold back them there tears, hold ‘em. I know it’s hard, but you can do it. Be brave, Jimmah, be brave.
God broke the mold when He made Jimmah, didn’t he? I didn’t think a mortal man could be this brave.
Not much longer now, Jimmah, just keep your finger in the dike a little longer now. Hold ‘em, Jimmah, hold ‘em.
Speaking of Secretary of State, you know both Clintons are pissed that Carter is in the Mideast practicing his own diplomacy. Carter pulled this crap when Clinton was president, and Carter feels free to pull this stunt now because he knows that Hillary is ineffective because Zero hates her guts.
You think it was bad with Bush. Wait one more year with Obama and we’ll all be crying. Obama is Carter on speed! Obama is the classic narcissist. It’s all about him. He’s always speaking, never doing! He loves to hear himself and to see the adulation of the crowd. He makes me sick! I can’t even watch this self-absorbed egomaniac.
As for Carter, he goes over there as a spokesman for the Palestinians whom he loves so much, and HAMAS tries to kill him. I wonder what goes through that demented mind as he wakes up to the fact that his real enemies are the ones he is trying to support. Long live Israel. It shall never be defeated or driven out because God gave them the land thousands of year ago, BEFORE there ever was a Palestinian.
On any given day, any month of the year, I know, I can come to Freep and get a good laugh from comments. Today is no different. I’m in tears, laughing at the tears you guys are in, from Carter’s tears, and in remembrance of his tearful administration. I’m just bustin a spleen.
Gawd, do we have some witty folks.
Bill Clinton could have had those tears appear on cue. Carter is a piker. Send him back to double A.
It’s very interesting, perhaps symbolic (maybe ironic) that Carter is in the Mideast exactly when Iran is rioting after a fraudulant election. Carter still thinks he’s cool beans because of the Sadat-Begin (sp) handshake. He seems to forget that he has something to do with the current state of affairs in Iran.
