Dealers Say They Were Led Astray in Chrysler's Final Days

Jim Press, Chrysler's charismatic deputy chief executive, went to Capitol Hill last week and spoke solemnly about the "very difficult decision" of terminating 789 of the automaker's dealers across the country.

He assured members of a House committee that the company's executives had "taken every step to make this a soft landing for the dealers involved" and promised to help them as much as possible.

"You have two choices," Press told the group, according to reports. "You can either help us or burn us all down."

Many dealers would long remember the warning that followed to those who refused to order their whole allotment of cars: "If you decide not to do that, we've got a good memory."

"Our jaws dropped," said Alan Spitzer, who appeared before Congress on Friday and until last week owned eight Chrysler-brand franchises in Ohio. "It was clearly a threat. There was no other way to take it."

Actually, the thought occurred today that Obama is to some extent putting himself and his agenda ahead of what is in the best interest of African Americans. As the first AA president of the US, how he does will have an impact on the success of future AA politicians, and potentially on race relations in the US. He should therefore be trying to be a great president for all citizens, and to be moderate in a moderate-right country. Instead he is being guided by his own personal ideology and presumptions, and he is being very divisive. He has been given a great opportunity to help end racial divisions, and to show everyone that they can achieve in the US no matter who they are or what their background is. Instead it appears that he is further perpetuating the idea that America is inherently unfair and that the government is required to put things right.

I do believe it WILL take force to remove the Obamacratic Regime from the White House. We'll probably have to bulldoze down whats left of it and turn it into "green space"
