Former President George H.W. Bush tells the Washington Times the results of the Iranian elections were "strange." He tells them: "It sounded funny when the opponent claimed victory by 60 some percent then the next thing you know he's on his back, counted out," former president, George H.W. Bush said on the debut broadcast of the Washington Times America's Morning News. "There is something weird about it, something strange about it."

forgive me for believing that Bush I has absolutely 0 insight into the situation on the group vis a vie Iranian elections
The folks at Stratfor say that while this may have been fixed, there is no way to fix it THIS MUCH without lots of people knowing about it.
The election outcome may be legit. Perhaps all the smart Persions left town. I know plenty here, but pre and post revolution.
The real problem is Obama’s not knowing about the election outcome well in advance, and then not responding properly anyway. The administration is stammering on this, and the US looks ridiculous.
However, the MSM keeps talking about everyone bein “shocked”, instead of discussing the first major intelligence failure of this administration.
Instead, today, we have Panetta cooly accusing Dick Cheney of inviting terror attacks.
Came for BDS, left satisfied.h
“Yea right ..its Bushs fault...fool”
The Morons in Iran NO, The Morons in the Whitehouse Yes..
You just can't make this stuff up.
Some of were not asleep through the “I will see you at the signing” You should have stayed awake!
Oh, heaven's no, can't we all just get along with Rat Boy and his puppetmaster Aya-hollah-at-yew.
Iran is weird. Simple enough!
That's nothing, George should of seen California election where all 5 of the proposed tax increase propositions were blown out of the water, in a historic overwhelming rejection of government taxes...So bad, the governor left the state during the election. lol
Uhhhhh......GHWB.....y’know how the last election in the US was won by Obama/Biden, but we hoped would be won by McCain/Palin? Well, in Iran, it may have been similar to those results, also. But probably not. There may be no decisive difference in practical terms, between Ahmanutjob
and his challenger.
“Read my lips: Don’t inflame the tension thing.”
“No. No. That would be bad, not good, bad.”
Tiananmen Square Redux.
‘Strange? It is called fraud. Just like our government is run on nowadays nothing new George!
IMO, GHWB had his former CIA Director’s hat on when he made that statement. It shouldn’t be read as the words of a clueless ex-President. GHWB has a broader knowledge of the workings of the world than anyone in the Nobama administration, and it sounds like Bush I saw something in Iran that surprised even him. I wish he’d elaborate on that statement, but I’m not holding my breath...
The interior ministry informed the opposition candidate that he won because he did. That was reversed and the opposite proclaimed because tyrants do not go gentle into that good night.
It is simple, it is transparent, and as usual people in the west instead make every excuse they can dream up for the monsters.
Bambi is taking notes on how to put down an insurrection in your country when you lose the election and refuse to give up power........a la Mugabe
Yes, just incomprehensible incoherency secondary to inventing ideas and words with no established foundation by Mr. Bush. Gobbledy-gook does comes to mind. It is common in politics, especially PC politics. Belief on gobbledy-gook does make everything else extreme.
ACORN???
It’s fixed from the get-go. Candidates cannot run unless approved by the unelected Mullahs.
Mr President, I liked and respected you then and I still do.
