I think a more accurate way to look at the current Basiji, is as being thug underclass who know they have no work skills and depend on being hired thugs.

Officially the Besijji are hardcore martyrdom-worshipping fanatics, bright members of the Ashura Battalions, etc, etc

But that of course is only their official identification or aspiration, recruited to die gloriously against the enemies of Allah. They are thugs with a toxic ideology: religious police.

Now that the enemies of Allah have devolved from distant, powerful America “the Great Satan” into Iranians with hair-gel and lipstick, the Besjji’s self-identification may wear thin.
