The nationwide surge in violence by right wing extremists has been making a lot of headlines lately, both in the blogosphere and the corporate media -- with Fox News doing its best to downplay the violence as isolated and perpetrated by lefties.
Now it appears that Shawna Forde, a rising star in the xenophobic, anti-immigrant militia movement has been arrested for her role in a home invasion that left two dead, including a 9 year old girl.
TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - Pima County Sheriff's investigators have charged three people with a May 30 home invasion that left a father and 9-year-old girl dead.
Shawna Forde, Jason Eugene Bush and Albert Robert Gaxiola face murder, burglary and aggravated assault charges.
Investigators say the suspects broke into a home in Arivaca, shooting and killing 29-year old Raul Flores and his daughter Brisenia.
Investigators say Forde was the mastermind of the operation. She and Gaxiola are in the Pima county jail. Answering media questions while led out in handcuffs, both suspects denied responsibility for the deadly home invasion.
"This is a very unusual woman," said Clarence Dupnik, Pima County Sheriff. "I don't really know what goes on in her mind, but she is obviously a very evil person. If you look at her history closely, and you know what we know, she is, at best, a psychopath." Read on...
Forde, who is surrounded by numerous controversies, has been on the radars of both the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League for some time now. Shawna is also supported by Jim Gilchrist, co-founder of the Minuteman Project -- who is also embroiled in controversies of his own.
I never heard of her before. In whose eyes was she a “rising star”?
The piece also says she’s part of an “anti-immigration” group.
Wrong....these groups are against illegal immigration.
Of course, left wingers fail to see the difference.
The left's of course.
The propaganda will be getting intense as this campaign to demonize “right wing nutjobs” gets going. You can already feel it. They think they got something. They will string together these types of incidents and repeat them, in sequence, “you know Joe, what’s does the Holocaust Museum incident, the home break-in incident, the Dr. Tiller murder, and the XYZ incident say about this emerging trend of right wing violence.” There will be the assumption of 1: right wingism 2: trend, 3: violence. They will beat this drum over and over and over. You know they will. On every network.
I don’t know anything about this woman. She may be a violent criminal, or she may be a patsy. This is not something I know “conservatives” engage in. But it will not matter if the MSM can successfully weld “right wing” with “conservative”.
We already know that every story in the MSM is a lie. Every one.
Let’s see some evidence. Until then, I urge folks to be on the lookout for this type of “seed” story.
What “nationwide surge?!
Crooks and Liars is a far lefty blog unworthy of so much as a second glance. Is this article from them or a bonafide source?
Exactly.
And of course anyone who is even remotely connected to Republicans or legitimate conservative ideas, and who commits a crime, will be one more example of “right wing” extremism.
It has a bona fide new source embedded in it which does not support the Crooks and Liars take on the matter.
I’m posting it as an example of how the media is going on a “right wing extremist” binge.
...every story in MSM is a lie...
Well, probably not every story. Se e why we get labeled extremist?
I have no idea as to the credibility of the source. I am commenting on one very specific aspect, and that is the number of qualifiers and assumptions built into the reporting. By having the topic of a sentence be “home-invasion robbery”, which is something most people innately fear; but blowing past the “right wing nutjob hero” phraseology, the “right wing nutjob” becomes subliminally implanted in the brain. This is the propaganda mechanism. If they repeated the sentence “Right wing nutjobs”....smelted a ‘57 Chevy out of iron ore in their backyards” you’d develop this meme/engram of “right wing nutjob” without even noticing it, even if you found the idea that they melted rocks to form a ‘57 Chevy utterly absurd.
These are the same types of people who prefer calling an aborted innocent baby a fetus, blob, tissue so that they can comfort themselves by not considering themselves what they really are, Baby Killer, Baby Murders or just plain Murders.
Kinda like Eric Rudolph. They connected him to the right by virtue of his anti abortion views but that really seemed to be the only “right leaning” thing about him.
The left picks and chooses the issue they need to connect people to the right while all other issues may firmly plant them in the left. IOW if you agree with the left on all things you’re a left winger but if you agree with the right on one issue then do something bad you’re a right wing extremist.
They’re just desperate to label people. I have a gay friend who would send the left into convulsions. He opposes gay marriage and says a child needs to be raised in a home with a mother and father. Best of all he says things openly about Obama that you or I know better than to say.
But "we" would not be any less labeled "extremists" if we said:
"Most stories in the MSM are lies."
"Half of the stories in the MSM are lies."
"One third the stories in the MSM are lies."
"25% of the stories in the MSM are lies." or
"Hey, I found this great article in the NY Times."
We are now and probably forever are destined to be called "extremists" under ALL conditions when the side throwing the ad hominems is what the other side is at this point. Dialog is discouraged in favor of name calling. I refuse to accept the premise. I cannot make the conservative case if I have to start from a self-assumed deficit of accepting the premise thrown out as a gambit by the other side. I think they are idiot drones, but I don't expect to win any conversational points by saying that. Liz Cheney devastated Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC by refusing to accept his premise.

Mark Levin had a very powerful segment on just this issue on Friday, I believe, right at the start of his show, which should be available via archive.
There are no conceivable conditions under which the other side is going to have anything good to say about a conservative philosophy. That's just the way it is as far as I'm concerned. And they wouldn't have anything bad to say about 0bama if he singlehandedly beheaded a family on the White House lawn. So this (my comment) is just about the mildest piece of hyperbole imaginable.
Interesting!
I’m not especially making a ‘principled’ case for not caring about being labeled “extremist” or anything else. It’s purely tactical. We shouldn’t care what we are called by a bunch of idiots. The way to get beyond the insults...is to get beyond the insults, that’s all.
I agree. I ignore being called a racist because that hammer don’t pound if I don’t play the part of the nail.
To tell you the truth, I don’t believe the name calling is really for our benefit. I think its real purpose is to keep the left in line. I’m seeing a lot of upper middle class lefties getting real worried about their futures lately.
who? Never heard of her. Not sure why I should care.
