CIA head says Cheney almost wishing US be attacked (Panetta)

CIA Director Leon Panetta says former Vice President Dick Cheney's criticism of the Obama administration's approach to terrorism almost suggests "he's wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point."

Panetta told The New Yorker for an article in its June 22 issue that Cheney "smells some blood in the water" on the issue of national security.

...

Last month the former vice president offered a withering critique of Obama's policies and a defense of the Bush administration on the same day that Obama made a major speech about national security.

Panetta said of Cheney's remarks: "It's almost, a little bit, gallows politics. When you read behind it, it's almost as if he's wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point. I think that's dangerous politics."

Isn’t Panetta that place with the awesome bread and sandwiches?

If Leon is so good at divining intentions I wish he would redirect that skill towards our true enemies.

“This spells real trouble. Panetta must know that security is now lacking that used to be in place. He’s setting up some kind of diversion ahead of time, so that when it happens, he can offset criticism coming from security-minded Republican, among whom Cheney is a leader.

I read it as Panetta expects an attack soon, because they’ve taken away some critical prevention tools.”

I don't mean to be rude, but, YA THINK???? : ) Just typing what when through my head. (I mean why the hell is the FBI in A-stan reading Miranda Rights to Al Qaeda and Taliban sympathizers?) If I were Gates/Petareus I would seriously think about resigning. The actions Obama/Biden/Leon/Meuller/Reid/Pelosie have taken in the last months are suicidal. What is sad, most Americans are unaware of what is going on.

The one thing that Republicans have to know about Leon Panetta is that he has been, from the first breath of his political career, ab initio, a hack. A political hack. A poltroon and a political hack, stooge, henchboy, and errand-runner.

Like Shakespeare said about one of the characters in Julius Caesar, "He is a slight man, meet to be sent on errands."

Panetta's first hack-job was errand boy for Lyndon Johnson, who made Panetta his political procurator for wayward Louisiana, in charge of integrating Louisiana schools. One of Panetta's brave defis was to call in the members of a local school board, tell them they couldn't quit and they couldn't say no, that they would do exactly what he told them to do every time he told them to do it, or they would go to federal prison.

These were people, mind you, who were current on their bills and taxes and had no warrants or charges outstanding. They hadn't been accused or convicted of a crime, but he treated them like criminals.

That is the sort of thing Leon Panetta did, 40 years ago, to entoad himself to the likes of "Landslide Lint'n", the worst human being ever to hold the office of President of the United States, until Bill Clinton and his consort washed up on the White House steps.

I am just ticked off at the leadership and because of my impotency I am being snide. What you said is true.

My position has consistently been that I believe the Agency is best-served by having an intelligence professional in charge at this time.

By God, it's true, even a stopped clock IS right twice a day.

Unbelievable corruption we likely agree but how to stop it is another question
