I don’t like what he said about the holocaust. Again, he is still connecting us to the land because of persecution of Jews.

You may have missed the part where he specifically stated otherwise -- that the land is their heritage and NOT because of any suffering they endured in history.

I didn’t like when he said that the holocaust happened because we didn’t have Israel. True, but we should have Israel whether they throw pogroms or parties for us. I avoid any connection with pogroms & holocausts when talking about Israel because this is a major theme among enemies of Israel that has great impact. That we needed a land because we are persecuted (acceptable) but no right to make the Palestinians pay for it by taking their land (unacceptable). This has great effect on people & many people think this way, so it’s important to pound on the idea that this land is ours because it’s ours. It’s holy land & it’s ours. Nothing to do with any other reason, & never bring it up. Religious reasons should always be used before secular ones because our religion is our real identity.
