Tim Latham, who has spent the last 19 years teaching students American history and government spent the past school year at a high school in Lawerence, Kan. and it appears his first year at the school will be his last. During Latham's brief meeting with the assistant principal ( Jan gentry ), he clamis gentry told him his school-affilated web site was " too patriotic ". The site links to the US Military Academy at West Point, the Air Force,and other military and history related sites

Seems straightforward. He complains. Shortly thereafter he resigns, then gets a job in another State. After only one year, in which as a new teacher, he doesn’t conform to what the rest of the department is doing, the district decides not to retain him. So he again goes to the media to complain.
Given this, his politics wouldn’t even have mattered. Teachers do not take their fights to the media, and new teachers to not blow off their department chair. That he had taught 19 years in Arkansas matters not a bit in Kansas.
Well, you see it your way, I’ll see it mine. It’s political. He’s the square peg, the fly in the ointment, the pair of brown shoes to the liberal’s tuxedo. I’m so glad my kids are grown and out of public schools. The way things have gone, I’d have to take out a loan on the house to put them in a private school.
