Video: Obama auto team called shareholder lawyer a “terrorist”
HotAir.com ^ | 6/13/2009 | Ed Morrisey

When we last left the negotiations between Chrysler’s senior bondholders and Barack Obama’s auto task force, Thomas Lauria and his clients alleged that the government used intimidation tactics and threatened to sic the White House press corps on individuals if they didn’t give up their rights to allow the unions to win in the bankruptcy. Congress took an interest in this”madman” theory of the Presidency and got access to some e-mails floating between the task force and an analyst. Rep, Steven LaTourette (R-OH) reads from the e-mails, in which the auto task force calls Lauria — their attorney — a “terrorist” and refuses to negotiate after a Chrylser expert consulted him:

Ms Underestimated writes: The important part comes at the end: an email exchange between Matthew Feldman, attorney on the President’s Auto Task Force, and Robert Manzo, Chrysler restructuring expert. Manzo is basically pleading to further negotiate to prevent bankruptcy, but Feldman is having none of it. Here is the exchange: Robert Manzo, Chrysler restructuring expert: “I hope you think it’s worth giving this one more shot.” Matthew Feldman, attorney on the President’s Auto Task Force: “I’m now not talking to you. You went where you shouldn’t.” Manzo: “Sorry. I didnt’ mean to say the wrong thing and I obviously did. I was trying oto make sure that if we had to contribute to the solution you knew we had some room. Sorry I did not realize the mistake!!” Feldman: “It’s over. The President doesn’t negotiate second rounds. We’ve given and lent billions of dollars so your team could manage this properly….And now you’re telling me to bend over to a terrorist like Lauria? That’s B.S.”

I hope you’re right, April. I hope that, when Big O’s thugs pull another Waco, that we don’t just sit in front of the boob tubes and register our shock to the ceiling.

I foresee this anti-god, anti-Christian leftist administration labeling and going after Christians and Chistian churches as domestic terrorists. And I don’t mean fake Christian churches like the Rev. Wright Trinity Church.

And of course, there’s always that pesky gun ownership/gun rights thing that Obama hates. Obama will cede US sovereignty to the UN, which already has in place their “plans” for disarming America. Bet on it.

Maybe then....when UN “”peacekeepers”” come to our front doors to confiscate our weapons...we’ll finally get up off our dead @rses and do someting, eh?

That chart is frightening. When you move forward, month by month, it looks like the country is slowly bleeding, then it becomes a full blown hemorrhage.

I know. And the worst appears to be during Barack’s reign.

And again, we weren't in danger of losing our liberty under Bush. Yeah, I distrust him TOO, but what choice, again, did we have? Gore? Kerry? No freakin way. In the grand scheme of things, yes...Bush Sr. let us down and so did GWB. But the fact remains that under Bush, NO America citizens' civil liberties that I'm aware of, were violated. The DHS did not violate us or our freedoms. And we at least WERE kept safe from another attack on domestic soil. As much as you may distrust and dislike GWB, I fear that we will one day look back fondly on his eight years in office as "the good ole days".

As for "George TARP Bush", I guess you're not aware that he was convinced to do the bail out jig after the September $500+ billion dollar heist?

Educate yourself, PLEASE.

"RUSH: Do you remember this? This is the day I think that the Atlanta banks ran out of one-hundred-dollar bills. But now stop and think of this: A $550 billion withdrawal from money market funds in one-to-two hours. I am convinced -- and there's one more sound bite to go here -- I am convinced that this is what they took to the White House and said to President Bush, "We have got a disaster, you have got to get on board with a bailout," which came later on in October, "you've got to get on board with this $700 billion, the TARP 1," all because 550 -- now, what precipitated this? Here's the second Kanjorski sound bite. "

Where was the $500 billion originally and where did it go? If it was electronically transferred, there should be records.

The only terrorists here are the ones that have invaded the WH. Most corrupt government on earth right now. Vile, despicable, time to get used to living under a Hugo Chavez or sell it all, get out and enjoy life in a sane place.

This is war.
___________
Bingo! There is a war going on and sadly it has begun and most don’t realize it. I believe it will eventually involve all 3 parties and Democrats, Republicans and Independents will stand together. I have little hope for the progressives since they are nothing but closet Commies and would love to see us become another Cuba.

The actual geography of the hemorrhage is the frightening part. It is so concentrated in the Cities in the NE, E, Great Lakes, Fla, and Southern CA.

Would not like to be living there. 6-month hence.

There is no place to move. This is the last place.
___________
I have to disagree. There really are other places. Smaller, but far more fair at this point and time. How about no property taxes for 25 years? How about no taxes on your phone, electric bills, etc. How about discounts for anyone over 55 for everything from health care to dinners at a restaurant. Great medical care, good insurance plans and warm all year. No Hurricanes and lots of other Americans, Canadians, and gorgeous homes at a fraction of what you would pay here. The government a Constitutional Democracy. A maid that will cook, do it all, 7 days a week, 300. a month. Food much cheaper than here. Lots of fresh tropical fruits, beef, seafood.
Downside, low pay. Upside, if you speak English it’s a huge plus and pay is better. If you can make money here and live there, you will do quite well.

But the fact remains that under Bush, NO America citizens' civil liberties that I'm aware of, were violated.

Well let me make you aware of some examples. Bush tried to take away the ancient right of habeas corpus from at least one American citizen: Jose Padilla (who happened to be a Muslim) and there is a strong indication that Padilla was also subject to "enhanced interogation" techniques such as sleep deprivation. He was held for more than three years without any criminal charges at all.

I could give other examples the national surveillance states of American citizens increased dramatically under Bush such as out of control NSA spying on the "phone sex" calls of American citizens. Both of these were dangerous precedents which conservatives too often ignored. Now they are beginning to pay the price.

As for "George TARP Bush", I guess you're not aware that he was convinced to do the bail out jig after the September $500+ billion dollar heist?

That's an interesting revisionist rationalization (which totally ignores the distortive role of the inflationary monetary and credit/regulatory politicies under Bush and his "ownership society") for the greatest leap to socialism in decades....but you do not mention that Rush sensibly opposed TARP.
