Sens. McConnell, Cornyn, McCain to Raise Money for Charlie Crist

Florida’s Republican Governor Charlie Crist is getting a big boost for his U.S. Senate bid from a bevy of GOP A-listers. Helping to raise money for Crist in Washington are Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) chairman Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and 2008 GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

The power trio will be on hand – along with yet other Republican luminaries – to help attract major donors at an event for Crist slated for June 22 at the NRSC, according to a report in The Hill, which obtained an invitation.

The week before the Washington fete, Crist will be grinning and gripping at a warm-up fundraiser back home in Jacksonville. Scheduled to take place at a private home, that event’s host committee is headed up by Jacksonville mayor John Peyton.

According to a report in the Jacksonville Observer, polls show Crist comfortably leading Marco Rubio, his main GOP Primary challenger, by a 3-1 margin. Crist also handily defeats likely Democratic candidate Kendrick Meek.

“Birds of a feather flock together.”
Just another example of how the beltway has lost touch with real America.

Crist is sure winner unless he is completely outed for his alleged sexual preference. Even that might not be enough.

I feel the same and I worked on plenty of Charlie's campaigns. That is mostly what he does, he never stays in the same job long before he starts going for another. I worked on his last Senate run against Bob Graham, and he was constantly tagging along with Jeb Bush, and others lie the little suck up/groupie he is. I used to adore Charlie and I cannot stand to see or hear him anymore. The Head of the RPOF and Crist and company are all horrible to GOP women, especially Conservative women, and almost every GOP female is for Marco Rubio. We are not fooled by Charlie Marrying the “FruitBeaut”, we know he is running for VP or President, and has been for a while. Just as is his pattern, if he wins the Senate seat, he will start the 2012 Campaign for the White House right after the swearing in Ceremony in the US Senate. Don't believe the polls, Rubio is on a roll.

What frickin' idiots.

Over the years – when, to steal a line from Billy Joel, I wore a younger man’s clothes – I was involved with several pretty solid conservative candidates for Congress. One was a Democrat (Lawrence Patton McDonald) – because that was the only way he could win in that district. Those old-timers who know Larry’s record will tell you that he was a solid an anti-communist America Firster and more Republican than the pubbies in nearby districts at the time. (His mother’s cousin was General George Patton from whom he got the middle name – and his incredible resolve and love of this country.)

Those other candidates ran as Republicans. Because I was a rabid Bircher back then (still am philosophically!), those candidates had to pass my rigid litmus test or I went looking for someone who did. For that reason, I hooked up with what the TRADITIONAL country club pubbie establishment types believed were too radical for their refined tastes.

As those campaigns began to unfold and it became clear to the country clubbers that these guys 1) had a shot and 2) were pretty independent thinkers who would be hard to keep on the reservation once they got sworn in, the local pubbies communicated that information to the Republican National HQ types who rather quickly sent in campaign “professionals” ostensibly to lock up the impending victory.

Instead, in nearly every case to which I was privy, these “professionals” proceeded to TORPEDO our guy’s campaign in subtle but effective ways.

From that experience I can tell you that the pubbies at the HQ in D.C. would rather have a Democrat win a given district than have a pubbie up there who would embarrass them by refusing to follow the party line.

If YOU become involved in campaigns for solidly conservative, America and Constitution loving, hard-nosed, independent thinking candidates in 2010 and 2012 and beyond – and I pray many of you do — please DO NOT trust any of those folks from GOP HQ in Washington. If they suggest sending in one of their “professionals,” tell them to fuggetaboutit.

They ARE WHO GOT IS INTO THIS MESS AND THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND!!!!

Are these the big tent guys?
Yep. Their tent is so big, it only has room for old white guys.
They sure want hispanic's votes though.
As long as they don't have to share power with one.

Im so angry at Cornyn, the so called 3rd most conservative member of congress. Argh.
___________
WTH is wrong with him??? Crist is a complete POS. He’s no Republican, he’s not even a RINO. He’s a closet Dem, among other things. The buzz in FL is that he has a little boyfriend in Key West. I have no clue if it’s true but many people claim to have seen them there and supposedly there are pictures. If it’s true I imagine those pictures will surface when he campaigns unless he pays them off.

“Son of Specter”?!

Exactly! That’s exactly what I wrote to the RNC and the Senatorial Committee.

And Charlie Crist was the Attorney General of Florida during the extended time that when Terri Schindler Schiavo was illegally condemned to being starved to death, and he didn’t lift a finger or even sound like he cared. If I were in Florida I would be out there campaigning for Marco Rubio.
