What was CBS’ statement on this?

None to me. I haven't heard of an official CBS response.

If you call CBS they transfer you to the "comment line". The last day I called I was disconnected at that point. Twice. I actually think the in-box was overflowing.

I also left a comment at Letterman's production company, 'World Wide Pants'.

I misunderstood the post where you wrote “which they have now done.” It made it sound like CBS had now given an official response. Maybe a typo (now = not)?

Well, not really surprised that they haven’t come out with an official response.
