Gov. Sarah Palin and the Today show
Today Show ^
Posted on 06/12/2009 5:12:09 AM PDT by blueyon
Matt Lauer interviewed Gov Sarah Palin today. They talked about the gas pipe line and then got into the Letterman comment (from about the 4:00 minute mark). Sarah told it like it was when Lauer pressed her. Matt tried to excuse Letterman and Sarah said "he was naive" and then he really got interesting! Matt finally had to give in (even thou he tried to defend Letterman). Was great! REALLY WORTH LISTENING TO!

posts 135/136 - Deb, I am not being contentious, I just wish to ask what your point is? Of course MSNBC will trash her, this is fully expected for a show composed of far-left loons to present to its far-left loon audience.
Now The Today Show audience I would think includes many females, especially moms, who now see Palin in a truer light.

I think Lauer had a grudging respect for this great lady by the end of the interview... What we saw on display here was greatness. This, Luke21, is an astute observation on your part.
A lady who will seek the Presidency not for the power &
prestige of the office, but for her unabashed & unyielding
love for America

You have got it right, Joann. By the time the interview was over, the part about Alaska pipeline was lost. The whole point was for NBC Matt Lauer to put CBS Letterschmuck in a bad light and his ratings in the toilet. That was the only reason he appeared to cave to Sarah somewhat.
She made good points in re-framing the issue as an attack on the purity of young women and integrity of our culture. I just don’t think she necessarily rose in public esteem via this interview, although it was reassuring to those who already like her. It was a no-lose, no-win situation.

The minute the interview was over MSNBC got the tape and used the full hour to sneer, smear and trash her. Oh boy, imagine my surprise.
Bob Dylan wrote a song once: "You're Only a Pawn in the Game." Sarah was used; that is how THEY play the game.

So Sarah was allegedly used. It's not as if too many that tune in at MSNBC are on the fence about her anyway.
The Today Show is another matter. She made inroads this morn amongst non-conservative stay-at-home moms. And I'll add, amongst some on the Right who may have had doubts about her.
See Sarah Palin this evening at 6PM eastern time on CNN/The Situation Room.
An opportunity to positively influence the husbands of the aforementioned moms.

I loved it.
On every issue and with each attack, she wiped the floor with that disgusting dishrag.
While watching it, I wanted to break the sissy-boy’s nose, but she did it for me.

I’m a little late in responding, but the “talk too fast” is alas something you have to do in this type of interview since you are under such time restrictions. i understood her just fine.

On every issue and with each attack, she wiped the floor with that disgusting dishrag. No, not really. But the important thing is that she's getting better - she did MUCH better than she did last Fall, hopefully she's getting some coaching.
Better voice, better enunciation, better looking right at the red light, better at not allowing interruptions - just better all around.
There's hope for her, I would say.

The more folks see of her and actually listen to her, the more respected and better positioned she will be to help us take back our country in 2010 and 2012.Perfectly put, Jeff Head. And I'm glad you cited the 2010 elections. Palin gains momentum each day, and those up for reelection will reap the benefit of her endorsement.

She already proved her capability in that regard in Georgia...and my guess is she will double down on that in 2010.

"Sarah was used"Let me get this straight. Everytime Sarah speaks, she is being used? Should she just "shut up & sit down?"

I disagree. They attempted to use and bully Sarah, but she stood up to them. Now she is gaining support across the board.

They hated Reagan too.
Palin’s worst campaign quality was allowing herself to play second fiddle to a RINO and take his RINO-staff’s excrement.
I didn’t see the interview but now I’m chomping at the bit to do so.
