Calling all NY Freepers!!
Much of the significant fighting early on in the Revolutionary War occurred in New York – Fort Ontario, Fort Ticonderoga, The Battle of Saratoga, The Battle of Long Island, Fort Stanwix, Manhattan, White Plains, and many more. With Liberty so imperiled today, our hope is that Liberty starts here again in New York.
Our message to our representatives is simple:
Tuesday, June 16th at high noon (12 – 3 pm) in East Capitol Park
Is it not possible to schedule these protests for the same day? Like...July 4 or September 12th or something like that? What with email and the internet and everything— you’d think it’d be a breeze.
Because this was scheduled before the others had picked dates.
Oh you make it sound so easy... Try it some time. Why don’t you put together a Tea Party, try to get on the radio, try to get on the news to promote it, try to get a database of people to email out to to get them there, try to do things all by your self (because no one else will help) do all this and then hope and pray that some one shows up.
Build websites like
http://AlbanysInsanity.com
http://TeaNewYork.com
Buy the domains, put all the work into it and earn no money to do it just to do the RIGHT thing.... Then get no donations just death threats from the union hacks.
Then have the guts to put together a petition to oust Sheldon Silver because he is the most corrupt politician in New York. Have you signed it? http://www.petitiononline.com/id14072/petition.html
I have been doing this for 15 years and FreeRepublic has been a huge let down and useless in New York for citizen action, protests and even getting them away from the keyboard long enough to get to any event.
I will now sit back and let someone else do what I have been trying to do.
Ya. Or...they could just make them on the same date. Not exactly parting the red sea.
Come on Mayor, you are just getting frustrated. Some of us have been pretty active where we live. I remember bringing my 11 y.o. son with me from Cayuga County to your April Tea Party at the Naval Yard in Buffalo. Quite the trip, but he was pleased to meet you, as was I. I also recall meeting another Freeper from Syracuse there as well, although her screen name escapes me right now. We are there, and we are with you, but as you point out there are many other organizations and site with folks there too. Also we appreciate all the effort and preparations you do. Please don't stop.
Albany is not in session on those dates. Albany is the focus of this event.
On Tuesday Albany is in session.
I know, I am frustrated. I appreciate you coming I really do. We had a great day then everything fizzled out.
This group that is putting on this is really frustrating me and us here to no end. I have tried to communicate and responses are not to be found.
So far we have only a dozen people that want to fo but at the same time they are frustrated too. There is no plan of action. It seems that they are like so many others, it is all about them and refuse to work with others. That is the main reason things just do not go any where in NY.
I’m tired.
I understand.
It seems that they are like so many others, it is all about them and refuse to work with others.
That I think is the problem. Everybody wants to claim the credit for leading the slaying of the Albany beast. However they fail to realize that we all have to actually do it FIRST. We can gloat about the acclaim only after the deed is done. Too many want to be seen as the "Leaders". Kind of like Newt and company trying to glom onto the spontaneous energy of the National Tea Parties.
I just hope they are expending as much energy on all their local races. It all starts with changing the school, village, town and county mindsets. Trickle up change will work if persistant pressure is brought to bear. Marches on Albany are nice photo ops to show there are alot of us ticked off, but I’m not sure how much that is going to change anything without the local actions being used.
You are exactly correct. Try to join groups together, it’s nearly impossible. I co founded Primary Challenge and Free Buffalo but they both went astray and became all about feeding their egos. I walked away.
I have joined in with Paladino and have the support of the Financial Guys and the business community. They see what the other two groups are all about.
We need a victory some how some way. That is why I am in all their faces, every politician I can embarrass in public I am doing it.
Thanks for all your efforts. Fighting the Beast is a challenge, but we’ve got to do all we can whenever we can.
Wish I could join you next week but I can’t. Will be in Albany on Thurs Sept 10, though, with the Tea Party Express:

I passed this on to our organizers as “the next big date”
Jim, we are having a big Tea Party here in Buffalo on July 4th too. I sure do hope I can get to DC in Sept. Maybe hook up with you in Albany.
Someone sent me this:
Angry ACORN Mob Intimidates NY Lawmaker, Assaults Top Aide
By Matthew Vadum on 6.12.09 @ 6:40PM
Protesters that were part of an angry mob that included many ACORN supporters nearly knocked New York state Sen. James Alesi, a Republican, down on the floor and spat in the face of his chief of staff, according to reports.
The protesters were reportedly upset that two Democratic senators decided to caucus with Republicans, a move that when finalized by the state Senate would hand Republicans control of it. Majority Democrats have shut down the chamber to prevent the transfer of power......
I was just up for the Stand for Marriage rally and i’ll get up there somehow Tuesday.
Jim are you going to D.C. for the fourth of July or staying home?
We have a big Independence Day Tea Party planned right here in the Central Valley near Fresno:

What time and where in Buffalo? Hope to be there. Many of my friends and family, who are not Freepers, voiced interest in this event.
Hi Mia, Niagara Square at noon.
Contact me through http://TeaNewYork.com
We’ll be there on Tuesday.
I’ll be posting details this week on the Upstate TEA Party to be held in Oneonta on July 4th. We had a very productive meeting this weekend and it’s looking like ours may be bigger than Albany’s was on tax day. Hope to see you there.
