WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration says executive compensation must be better managed to prevent the sort of risk-taking that jeopardizes the economy.

Gene Sperling, who advises Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, said Thursday the administration does not want to impose caps on executive pay. But he also laid out for the House Financial Services Committee a list of guidelines calling on publicly-held companies to link compensation to long-term performance, not short-term gains.

With the media already in their pocket, the DNC targeted overtaking religious issues going back to 2004.

They called it the god gap.

Defund the left. Boycott the MSM. KILL YOUR CABLE BILL.

If you are paying for television programming, your dollar is going to ALL of the networks even if you are not watching them. And Viacommie gets a big slice (SeeBS, Comedy Central, TVland, VH1, MTV, BET, Nickelodeon, etc.), Time-Lies-Warner gets a big slice (HBO, Skinemax, CNN, CNNHeadlice, TMC, TBS, TNT,...), etc.

Don’t give them a DIME. Do to your television what you did to your newspaper.

Good idea, but I like watching Beck. My husband is on deployment so I think I will cancel it until he comes back. He can’t live without FUEL TV and Discovery.

It isn’t state run media, much as what Rush calls it. Not yet anyway although their bailout is also coming.

It serves The Party, not the State. When Bush was in power, the media was decidedly against the State.

It is Pravda Media. Pravda means truth. There is no truth in Pravda.

You know -- that is the best idea I've heard yet. It will be a real sacrifice but it could work. Kill cable, boycott the MSM and save ourselves a bunch of money in the process. DEFUND THE LEFT

Beck has a radio show as well. And speaking tours.

And the programming on Discovery can be viewed via netflix and others when the documentaries are released to home video (even some series come out now).

And if they aren’t released, there are comparable documentaries available.

And even if a parent company that releases a DVD is part of the MSM bloc, renting via netflix puts less $$$ in the MSM’s pocket than buying the title outright (or even sending in a $65 a month cable bill).

Wikipedia also says that Discovery Channel is distributed via internet television now:

“I just don’t see why the country is not in total outrage with this administration.”

Because the MSM still has enormous power. Individuals may feel outraged, but most will not feel they are part of a group.

With lots of media coverage about outrage, and lots of editorials spouting outrage, then your average sheeple will feel empowered, part of a group (herd) and will stampede, crushing all in their hoovy path.

But now the message is that any outraged person stands alone.

“So, I assume, the publically held movie studios and sports franchises will cut actors and players salaries.”

So, I assume, the publically held movie studios and sports franchises will cut actors and players salaries.

The people that this will affect need to speak out and say exactly that. Why are movie stars, singers and sports players allowed to make millions and charge outrageous prices for tickets and make us pay $5 for a bottle of water at a sports venue or $150 for a ticket to take your kid to Disney or $50 for a family of 4 to see a movie. A boycott of all entertainment could send a strong message to these "stars" that if you continue to support this administration's policies and not speak out in defense of capitalism, your income will suffer like the rest of us.

That’s why I enjoy golf of all the sports — if you don’t perform well, you don’t get paid well, if at all.

I just don’t see why the country is not in total outrage with this administration.

The country would rather watch Oprah or American Idol than pay attention to what this administration is doing.

This should apply to all public employees who get salary and compensation packages over $100,000. At last count here in CA that is 38,000 public employees according to SacBee.
