I too searched around the official WH site and wasn't able to find any statement. A web searched turned up:

So, the “only” evidence that the White House made ANY statement is the LOCAL TV Station which alleges the White House released a statment - a statement which can NOT be found on the White House Web Site - although (timely!!) statements regarding just about ANYTHING can be found there ...

I call BS.
