Phoenix mayor Phil Gordon used the occasion of a fatal shooting at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC – allegedly by a white supremacist – to accuse Sheriff Joe Arpaio of being sympathetic to Nazis and neo-Nazis. At a news conference called to discuss Phoenix's light rail system, Gordon led off expressing his sympathies to the family of the victim in the DC shooting. He then called white supremacists "despicable" and wondered aloud why community and law enforcement leaders across the Valley have repeatedly denounced white Supremacists, except for Arpaio.
According to Gordon, the sheriff has had numerous occasions to criticize neo-Nazis, but has instead said things like "I'm the sheriff of all the people. I'll defend anyone's rights." Gordon pointed to a Larry King interview with Arpaio where he quoted Arpaio as saying, "You know, they call you KKK. They did me. I think it's an honor, right? It means we must be doing something right."
Gordon called on Arpaio to, "for the first time," denounce neo-Nazis and their methods.

I suspect in Phil’s feeble mind, he is running for Governor.
From my 14 years in the “Valley” and 10 or so of them with Arpaio as Sheriff, he cares about one thing. Law-breakers get punished. That’s it. The left can spin their BS all they want.
i heard some rumbling about him wanting the council to extend his term to save money on a mayor election. (or something to that effect).
phil needs to not embarrass himself.

Believe me I know it. This guy seems to be going after the new folks. Given the fact their homes are worth 20% less than 5 years ago, I doubt he has an audience.
