The most important think that the Kenyan has over Netanyahu is the threat to his collition if he does not go along with freezing settlements. Because Kadima has essentially agreed with Netanyahu on settlements, the pressure is decidedly diminished today.

Well, that certainly wouldn't be any accomplishment. Iran is already living in the stone age under Islam.

He has to blast them back to the premadorial soup age so they can have another crack at the evolutionary process.

I just know Israeli intelligence can figure out a way for Iran to have a nuclear “work accident”.

Netanyahu Fighting Fire with Fire

That's the best way to fight fire. Most people don't understand that Obama is more dependent on Israel than Israel is on Obama.

Obama simply doesn't hold any trump cards. He can project threats but can't deliver on any of them without losing significant support while getting nothing in return, except more demands from "Arab Street".

He is in no-win situation. He's done his apology tour bit, but it doesn't give him any cred or pull with Israel. Whether he understands this or not, remains to be seen. But if he doesn't, he'll be briefed on that subject if Israel / Bibi stands firm.

President Obama has taken virtually all territorial issues off the negotiating table by stating his support for the Saudi Peace Plan, that calls on Israel to surrender all of the land restored to the Jewish state in the Six-Day War in 1967.

this is the first time I've seen Zero's policy worded in this very clear way. I'm sure I'm not alone

Bibi’s going to fold. The only questions are how much and how quickly.

I don’t know. Hopefully he’s learned from 97. Does he want his legacy to be man who gave Hebron to Yasser Arafat AND the man who surrendered Jerusalem and the West Bank to Hussein Obama and Abbas. That’s quite a twofer. Is that why his brother went to Entebbe? So Bibi could fold under Obama’s pressure and hand over Jerusalem to the Saudis?

Hopefully he has stronger stuff this time around.

Hopefully, you’re right. I just doubt it. Historically, Bibi talks a good talk but has no spine when it comes to pressure.

I am sorry to have to agree with you, he has folded before. Maybe that taught him something...I do like Bibi, but he has been in this position before..Hopefully he has enough backing in the Knesset this time to stay strong..

We must be hopeful that Bibi has learned well from his mistakes.

The reason for Annapolis summit initiated by State Dept. (Condi Rice) two years ago was specifically to take attention from and bury all the alternate “peace” proposals that were cropping up at the time from Saudis, Jordan, Russia et al.

The tactic succeeded and despite a lot of talk about “new talks” and Olmert’s eagerness to revive his career by giving away anything that was put on the table (Golan Heights etc.), the overall “initiative” died out soon, taking out all the alternate “initiatives” with it.

Obama, obviously, is not content with the result and wants to restart the Israeli giveaway on the terms most favorable to his friends.

Fortunately, Israel has new government, and it’s hard to imagine Obama being stronger two years from today than he is now.

Loss of that territory was a consequence for attacking Israel.

Of course, 0bama, being a leftist, wants to remove any consequences for bad choices. It’s just the way leftists are wired.
