Up: GOP governors in New Jersey New York and Florida: Down down gay “marriage” in NYS
The Collins Report ^ | June 9, 2009 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

Posted on 06/09/2009 6:14:31 AM PDT by jmaroneps37

The chances of a new GOP governor increased and gay “marriage” decreased in New York State yesterday. Now Republican governorships look probable in New Jersey Florida and New York, three key states.

New York politics and gay “marriage” took a U turn yesterday in Albany; all but dropping the governor’s seat in Rudy Giuliani’s lap and ending gay “marriage” hopes.

First State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo stunned us by passing on a primary challenge to incumbent Governor David Paterson. Then the NY State Senate got into the act when its leadership was ripped away from the Democrats and returned to the GOP.

Two Senate Democrats flipped parties over the issue of gay “marriage”; called for a new leadership vote, ended Democrat control and hopes for Gay “marriage.”

With a Republicans Senate Cuomo’s chances of beating Giuliani all but ended. With Cuomo out and polls showing Rudy drubbing Paterson, retaking the statehouse in New York looks very possible.

Aside from what was happening in Albany polls in New Jersey and Florida bode very well for Republicans candidates to retake and hold their statehouses.

Last week’s New Jersey GOP gubernatorial primary gave Chris Christie a big win. In fourteen surveys since January, Christie has maintained a double digit lead over Jon Corzine the incumbent Democrat governor. The latest Rasmussen poll has Christie leading 53/41 which continues the trend.

A McLaughlin poll in Florida has likely GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill McCollum who is better known and liked than his likely Democrat opponent up 41/33.

With a stop of Gay “marriage” takeovers in New Jersey and New York looking good and Florida looking good there is indeed light in our tunnel.

The fireworks in New York are just starting. Today ALL Democrat Chairmen will be shown the door and Republicans will start trying to save the state with some fiscal responsibility. They's watched the Democrats children mess things up, now that's over and the adults are in charge again.

Let’s not get too excited here. The Republicans held the Senate for decades until January. All of the problems in NY didn’t just show up in the past 6 months.

What this does is to put a damper on the Dem agenda, which is great, but NY Republicans aren’t really the adults. There aren’t any adults.

Bingo.

And. aren’t some of the new “Republicans” pols with questionable character (including a violent felony indictment)?

Agreed. This isn’t a conservative revolution by any means, but it will put a stop to the worst of the Dem agenda in New York, which is good.

I think it’s telling that Dems are jumping ship to become Republicans in a very blue state like New York. Paterson is dragging the Democrat party down in that state big time. Giuliani could sleepwalk into the governor’s mansion if Paterson is on the ballot, and the Republicans can likely make big gains in the statehouse.

You’re right - felony indictment(s). But, since the pols were/are minority DEMOCRATS, that wasn’t a problem. Now that they pulled a Benedict Arlen, let’s see if the alleged charges and indictments rear their ugly heads.

Gee - I think they will!!!

They might be scums, but now they’re GOP scums. Good for Golisano and Senator Libous - take the war to the opponent!

They probably flipped parties just so Pelosi can take the heat off herself and Cold-Cash Jefferson and rewind her “Party of Corruption” diatribe.

I’m not as confident as many who see New Jersey as going GOP for governor. When the DNC sends in ACORN and their minions to prop up Corzine it will be difficult for Christie to overcome the shenanigans of the left. A coalition of unions, leftist activists and clueless voters is always difficult to overcome no matter what the polls say now.

Ummm, doesn't everybody know that Rudy is in the bag for the homo-perverts?
