Islam has served as the final way-station for the evolution of African-Americans who can’t and don’t want
to fit into the Western Mainstream. It offers them SO MUCH MORE than our cultures do: so much victimage, so much readymade “attitude” and the historical “identity” that comes with it. It’s been going on for a LONG time.
These people need to be watched.

Another thing I can think of is that this is the “Clinton approach” - avoid anything hard by denying the truth, thereby avoiding having to take unpopular action that will affect poll numbers.
