I don’t recall anything about taking over those companies in Bush’s plan, just that the loans were to be paid back...and if you will recall, The Won had little Timmy Geithner block aforesaid companies’ from paying back their loans, thus extending the government’s power over those companies. No, there was nothing in the Bush plan that came close.

I understand that, but my point upthread was that IF the Supremes hear the case and rule there was no authority for the administration to divert TARP money to the auto makers, then someone is guilty of misappropriation of funds.

The fedgov takeover of Chrysler and GM is a separate issue.
