Did anyone watch the alphabet news? I watched Bret Baier and there was absolutely nothing about this on his newscast. Very disappointing.

The government media talked alot about the Air France crash. This makes how many days it’s been a top story.....Tornedoes in mid west only get one day, earthquakes in Mexico get one day...could it be called filler time so we won’t have to talk about this upper cut to the moonwalker. Brian Williams talked about the family taking in the sites and moonwalker playing golf, getting back to watch the homeboys gameup.

Fox mentioned it, but it was about 1 line. They already had their schedule booked with Obama stimulus crap and hostages in N Korea. Hannity will do it, but he’s somewhat of a hack.

Why did just one Justice make this decision?

The other eight retired. It’s just the Court of Ruth now. Deal with it.

I just thought of something. The Supreme Court shuts down from June 26 to the 1st Monday in October. If Obama wants to abuse the law over the summer, there’s no final appeal. (It also makes me wonder why the Obama administration didn’t wait a few more weeks before stiffing the secured creditors of Chrysler.)

......epic fail......

I love sharp succinct posts, but ..... My thought is that:

The whole point of the GM/Chrysler exercise is to save Michigan and Michigan union Democrat voters. To do so, Obama has railroaded a crisis said to be patently illegal and unfair.

It is coming clear to me that it is a bluff designed to dupe the unions. They are promised the world. They rejoice in their good fortune, their rescue from death and their control over their masters.

The Indiana State Employees Pension fundcalled their bluff and went to court. The Supreme Court will now decide if they will enter the fray to sort out the law. I think they will take the case and make several adjstments. By providing for the bondholser state employees, the court will take away from the UAW. The court will become the bad guy.

Obama could have done that from day 1 but would have lost the union support. He wins with either outcome. His bluff is a win win strategy.

It would be a big slap to Obama if they rule against him. But the SCOTUS has at least decided to hear the case. I don’t know how you could avoid an interstate commerce and changing the bankruptcy laws without the legislature seemed like a no brainer.

It gives me hopes the separation of powers might not be completely dead.

The reason the SC stood up to the Administration is that they are immune from the Presidency and politics; they are on the Court for life, and there is little - short of a coup or outright assassination - that the President can do to overcome or eliminate the SC.

This is why Presidential elections matter; even in John McCain would have implemented every policy that Obama has, you can bet his SC nominee would be a LOT more conservative than Sotomayor!

SCOTUS has to protect its turf, they don’t want Obama to tell them what is their business and what is not.
On that, all justices will agree.

Ginsburg may well side with the administration if the case is heard (it will require 4 votes to grant mandamus), but she is acting now to preserve the standing of the SCOTUS.
