Whipped into fantastical shapes, these clouds hang over the darkening landscape like the harbingers of a mighty storm. But despite their stunning and frequent appearances, the formations have yet to be officially recognised with a name. They have been seen all over Britain in different forms -from Snowdonia to the Scottish Highlands - and in other parts of the world such as New Zealand, but usually break up without producing a storm. And some experts believe the stormy weather phenomenon deserves its very own classification. Experts at the Royal Meteorological Society are now attempting to make it official by naming it 'Asperatus' after the Latin word for 'rough'. If they are successful, it would be the first variety of cloud formation to be given a new label in over half a century 'It is a bit like looking at the surface of a choppy sea from below,' said Gavin Pretor-Pinney, founder 'We try to identify and classify all of the images of clouds we get in, but there were some that just didn't seem to fit in any of the other categories, so I began to think it might be a unique type of cloud.' He added: 'The underside of the clouds are quite rough and choppy. It looks very stormy, but some of the reports we have been getting suggest that they tend to break up without actually turning into a storm.' The Royal Meteorological Society is now gathering detailed information for the days and locations where the asperatus clouds have been seen in an attempt to understand exactly what is causing them. Officials will then apply to the UN's World Meteorological Organisation in Geneva to have the new cloud type considered for addition into the International Cloud Atlas, the system used by meteorologists across the globe.

I agree with you ST...
However: With so many other global events happening Simultaneously, with strange but maybe normal past weather phoenomenom, IMO it is prophetic in nature to the *Last Days*
Which I think our generation definetly is....
Pal ...
Are you OK? Have "they" gotten to you?
Well they sure are beautiful -however if I saw clouds like that i might be running for my basement!
Mel
Not when you look at it sideways.
Well, as I’ve said before, and to help clarify this with others here — the term “Last Days” actually began at the time just after Christ left this earth. Peter defined it as the “Last Days” from what we can see in Acts.
Now, we are in (more technically speaking) the “End of the Last Days” (LOL...).
In other words, we are coming up to that period of time which Daniel the prophet talked about. We are coming up on those last 7 years that was allocated to the nation of Israel (as God told Daniel back then). That’s the Tribulation Period.
Now..., when you go into those “signs” that are talked about — those are the “signs” and things in the sky that are talked about in the Bible which happen during that last 7 years, in other words, they happen during the Tribulation. It’s those people who will see it.
And what they’ll be seeing is about 100 times more severe and more dramatic than anything that one brings up right now, on these threads. There’s “no comparison” of this stuff here (and on other threads) to what will happen during that Tribulation time. That’s when it will be so dramatic that what we see now is merely *ordinary* and *dull*...
That’s how much different it will be then.
Right now, what we’re seeing are certain things that cycle through and happen over a longer period of time. Like when was the last time a big neteor struck the earth in your lifetime? I can’t remember one...
But, *outside* of our lifetimes, it has happened and will happen again. So, the “length of the cycle” for big meteors hitting the earth is way beyond our own limited lifetimes, so it simply seems “catastrophic” (which it is, I suppose) but it has happened *repeatedly* over our earth’s history — so it’s *nothing new*...
And we talk about big volcanoes, but we’ve got the proof of a big eruption out of Yellowstone, many years in the past, bigger than we’ve seen in our lifetimes and indeed, in the history of this country.
And how about big earthquakes? Well, the biggest one in the history of this country (in the lower 48) never happened in California. It happened in New Madrid, Missouri. Actually the two biggest ones ever (#1 and #2) in 1811 and 1812, with the 6th biggest one in 1812. The two biggest were over 8.0 and the third one was 7.8 magnitude.
So, when was the last time you’ve seen an 8.0 earthquake in the lower 48 of the United States?
You see..., many of these things are outside of our lifespans and they “cycle” and come around again and again, all through history.
BUT, those things of the Tribulation Period won’t be *recycled stuff* — but totally unique and having never happened in history before. Thus, we haven’t seen anything like that, yet...
:)
Just funning.
Me too. I was in 2nd grade, living in Oak Cliff. One afternoon the clouds gathered and the sky took on a strange greenish-blue color. Everything seemed to get really still...
Yes and that will be at the tail end of this final generation..
Matthew 24:22
Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened....
I believe it is the JEWS who Jesus is speaking about, who are left on the earth during the rapture....

Oh man! That was it... :-)
That was exactly it... It was scary-looking for sure...
Head for the hills, Ma, we got crop circles in the sky!
OK. If you see one of these and lightening starts striking the same spot over and over again, get out of town... FAST!
BTTT

Yep, that’s a good clue that a “wormhole” is opening up.... [and usually the Klingons are not far behind...]
Eat yer dang asperatus or you'll get no collieflower fer dessert.
mmmm, bacon.
Hey, dude, quit screaming. They're just Asperatus clouds.
A booby monster? You must have mixed emotions about that, huh.
Photoshop
Wow, could be signs in the heavens for these days? Beautiful, all of them.
