It's a shame him and his dad are the only two ex-presidents showing such class. The main thing I despised about George W. Bush was his failure to answer the slanderous attacks and the outright hatred Democrats heaped on him.
(Interesting choice of words regarding a behavior that might best be described as "Christian.")
Listen, a gentleman's "class" and sportsmanship might be okay at a Yale "Skull and Bones" reunion but, IMO, it went out the window long ago in America (probably when Andrew Jackson squared off against John Quincy Adams...politics is exceeded only by war.
What about the outright hatred many so-called real conservatives heaped upon him? Hmmmm...?
Not only heaped -- past tense -- but still heap in the present, as this tread demonstrates. Indeed, as your own post demonstrates. Interesting choice of words, there -- "despised." Interesting you didn't choose "dislike" or "disagree with."
So-called real conservatives are known more by what they're against than what they are for; more by what and who they, ummm, despise than who they support. Basically, they refuse to support anyone who doesn't stare back at them while looking in a mirror.
