"I must have missed the record of Reagan speaking out against presidents following him once he was out of office."

I hope that was humor? - He was followed by his Vice President.

The reason that President Bush should be speaking out now, is because of his inexplicable failure to do so during his time in office. WMD for example; the people should have been told authoratively that those weapons had been moved to the Bekaa Valley for use against Israel (still there), and why the move had been allowed. He should have explained the 16 tons of semi-refined uranium found in Bagdad when Sadam fell. The media should have never been allowed to lie.

The argument was made that Reagan spoke out. What we are talking about is Bush speaking out NOW and I explained that it would simply be urinating in a river of sewage.

People are condemning Bush now for not speaking out now. I simply feel that it is best left to Cheney. And, as I said, Bush will have a book coming out. That may be the most authoritative place for him to speak out, since it can’t be so easily twisted to suit the current media-designed dialogue.

I haven’t seen any media talking about WMD moved. I’d be interested in links, and certainly, I would hope that Bush extrapolates on these things in his book.

I would look forward to the ensuing media melee. For me, Laura Bush is a classy woman. I think Bush is smart in showing restraint right now.

And while the Great One is being invoked, you must understand that we have had NO ONE approaching his charisma, clarity of vision and ability to lead through magnificent communication of issues since.

But I doubt, due to the 11th commandment that he’d join a pile on against W.
