WASHINGTON – Former first lady Laura Bush says she's pleased that President Barack Obama nominated a woman for the Supreme Court.

"I think she sounds like a winner and a good nominee," Bush said of Sonia Sotomayor, the federal appeals judge Obama picked.

I guess it’s good that the do-nothing for 8 years DID nothing for 8 years.

I think a larger problem than the Bush’s is the conservatives who are being played for suckers by the MSM. Look at all the people who fell for it on this thread. They’re the ones who’ve made this non-story a story. They can’t turn around and now claim it’s a non-story.

Are you proposing that Laura Bush become the attack-dog? Are people even using their brains on this thread?

Obviously not if you think I was proposing that Laura Bush become an attack dog.

Then who is the “she” in the comment to which you were responding?

Whatever! Who cares? The Bushes were the lead-in to Obama. I think his silence reflects his complicity with Obama rather than anything else.

If Bush were appalled as he should be, he would say something. But, since he's become a coward we should expect nothing less than his "respectful silence".

This should be no surprise considering her hubby did all he could to shout all in all in free for our southern border and for that matter for anyone else too.

If you're really worked up about this, maybe you should form a grassroots organization opposing Laura Bush's comments on Sottomayor. You could sell lemonade, or even have a bake sale.

When people purchase your product, you could explain the critical importance Laura Bush's words, and why you oppose them. You might even get a local reporter to come out, and you could even write a letter to the editor of your local paper, or something.

Or, you could make up some flyers that read "Laura Bush must be silenced!" Be sure to have them explain why. Go to some public place and hand them out.

Ah, Rudeboy. There you go again. Once again using tiresome hyperbole to make a point that doesn't even match the conversation.

I took a chance on responding to you but I guess I won't be wasting my time like that again.

My point is that conservatives should choose their battles wisely. You usually agree, just not today.

I don't have to justify my every pronoun usage to you, sport.

BTW, there IS NO 'she' in the post that you replied to.

Because you were vague, and you can't, sweetheart.

However, it is time for the Bush’s to go away.

So who's calling who for the interview?

How's this for a headline? "Laura Bush tells media to stick it, she doesn't want to conduct any interviews about anything"........

Nice try. I'll let my posts speak for themselves. Anyone who gave them an honest reading would see I never asserted that 'Laura Bush become an attack dog' as you claim.

As one poster already mentioned, you use 'tiresome hyperbole to make a point that doesn't even match the conversation.'

You berate me for something I never said. I showed you I never said what you claimed. You call ME vague to deflect from the very salient point that I'd made.

You project, lecture and rationalize like a Democrat.

Don't 'sweetheart', me, little man.

Listen, toots, this is the thread where people have come to whine about what Laura Bush said. Your comment, though vague, might be one of the few on this thread that wasn't a knee-jerk reaction. The fact that it surrounded by them and that you have remained mute about them led me to believe that you were simply bitching. Here, have a cookie.

And instead of saying as much, you grill me about what I meant by a word that wasn't even contained in the post you referred to? Newsflash! A person can't explain what they never even said.

The fact that it surrounded by them and that you have remained mute about them led me to believe that you were simply bitching

Silence implies consent? Guilt by association?

Not in MY Republic, Bub.

I sick of playing nice. The GOP grovel in front of the Dems, suck up to them, give them their way and scatter like rabbits when a Dem raises his voice. They do it now, they did it when they were in power, and the GOP apparently plans on continuing with this program until there is nothing left.

The most racist, liberal nominee that I can EVER recall is going in front of Congress, and Little Miss Laura just HAS to get on TV and say nice things about her, don'tchaknow!

GAG me with a silver spoon!. YEAH! I'm bitchin'...you got a problem with that?

-----

Here, have a cookie.

No, thanks. My Mom told me not to take cookies from strangers, and you're 'bout as strange as they get.

Have a nice day.

And I didn't say it's wrong that you're bitching. I just pointed out that you're bitching. So don't bitch that I noticed.

George Bush was never a conservative, and I doubt his wife is/was either ...

I don’t believe she is a Real Republican. She probably voted Republican for her hubby and dad-in-law, but how many other Republicans did she vote for? I believe her sympathies are with the Libs.

After all, she is a Librarian. They are notoriously over-educated, intellectual liberals. Librarians even refused to support the War on Terror by refusing to name those reading anti-American or pro-Islamic or seditious books.

Of course she was behind Harriet Myers.

Remember before HM was announced as a nominee, her public statement about wanting a woman on the court? Then GWB had to feign surprise that his wife was so outspoken.

Why don’t these idiots fade into obscurity? Outside of the WOT, they have damaged my country quite enough, thanks.

Damn near destroyed the Republican party, if they haven’t already.

“What did you expect? That she slit the neck of a rooster, drink his blood, and curse Sotomayor on national TV?”

Keeping her big fat mouth shut would be a step in the right direction.
