"Because I speak in civil tones, some want to try to label me a moderate," she said. "My voting record is one of the most conservative in the U.S. Senate. ... We can't expect to remain the majority party in Texas if we drive out voters that support Republican principles but might not agree on every single issue."

This is how Washington infects and festers in our local states. Anyone in this great state that wants to bring KBH’s Washington politics to Austin is CRAZY! RINO RINO RINO NOWAYKAY NOWAYKAY NOWAYKAY
Texans deserve a real conservative choice for the U.S. Senate. And that ain’t this woman or Rick Perry.
I have had little use for her since she stated that the Senate needed more women, and that she would support women - regardless of party.
Agreed. Beyond that, I’d take Perry for another 50 years over KBH.
She gushed over Hillary’s election to the Senate.
And she would open the borders and give amnesty in a heartbeat if she thought she could get by with it....
ping swiney
I would like to point out that here in front of us we have an example of the uselessness of the RINO-covering “ratings” offered up by DC-based special interest groups.
“Conservative” groups rate this woman highly, even though her most fundamental stances are destructive of the very basis of American self-government and liberty. (She’s a pro-abort.)
BUYER BEWARE!
From the article:
Hutchison’s record
The senator’s scorecard
National Right To Life Committee 85
NARAL Pro-Choice America 0
National Rifle Association A+
National Journal composite conservative score 80.3
Americans For Tax Reform 95
Christian Coalition 90
Eagle Forum 87
Club for Growth 70
Family Research Council 88

kbh is the best reason to vote for Gov Good Hair.
Basically, it looks like the year will be 2014, when Dan Patrick runs.
At that point, for the first time in recent history, Republicans in Texas will have a chance to vote for unabashed conservative for governor. That’s how bad party is....waiting decades for a conservative to run in Texas.
The Dems don’t seem to have a problem finding liberals to run.
You say Hutchison is “pro-abort”, but you cite these ratings:
National Right To Life Committee 85
NARAL Pro-Choice America 0
Now, I realize that your point is the uselessness of ratings by special-interest groups. Still, those ratings must come from some votes. Can you explain why NARAL is giving a zero to a pro-abortion Senator?
HUTCHISON 2008 - 76 Lifetime - 89.38
I will vote Perry over hutch.
There are very few women who are conservative, and Kay is not one of them.
I doubt if even Ronald Reagan meets the standard (of whatever) evidenced by the most of posters on this thread.
Reagan had principles and didn’t run off to join democrats at every opportunity just so they would like him.
Read the article. She doesn’t even want to overturn Roe vs. Wade. She’s a pro-abort, plain and simple.
I’ve seen few examples that illustrate better the utter uselessness of these deceptive ratings from the national groups on both sides of the cultural divide.
Folks have been played for suckers by these people for too long. They need to wake up and quit being sheeple. Stop being manipulated by stupid contrived ratings that are only intended to keep failed incumbents in office.
If a candidate won’t even keep their oath to uphold the Constitution, which states as its crowning purpose the “securing of the Blessings of Liberty...TO OUR POSTERITY,” they won’t keep anything else. Someone who will sell out tiny helpless babes in the womb will sell out ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. Take it to the bank. They are not fit for any office in the United States, at any level. Period. End of story.
I wish that I had someone to vote for. None of the above is good. 10 years of Good Hair is enough too.
And most of the votes that make her “conservative” are things she followed Cornyn’s lead on, then later switched her stance when the cameras weren’t rolling. (Border fence comes to mind)
