Like I’ve been saying:
Hunter/DeMint 2012
DeMint is awesome.
I am proud that SC has at least one senator we can be proud of.
“But in the process he’s irked the moderate faction of the GOP, which accuses him of putting his ideology ahead of practicality and argues that the conservative wing has hijacked the party and tarnished its image.”
The ‘moderate’ faction is nothing but RINO’s seeking conciliation with DhimmiRats, Progressives, and other assorted LibTards. They believe the only way to political salvation is to appease the socialists.
As far as tarnishing the party image...the left leaning RINO’s have a lock on that one.
BullPuckey! It’s a perfect time to take a solid, principled, CONSERVATIVE stand. There will be NO better time to draw the stark contrast between the Socialist Democrats and true conservative principles.
It’s time to take back the country.
Good luck with that. Centrist Americans (who are the deciding vote) no longer care about anything other than who looks and sounds good and offers up Utopia through rhetoric. They don't look at voting records.
W was an anomaly because of the dorks he ran against, plus second time we were at war. I would vote for the above ticket in a heartbeat, but I bet the idiot Republicans offer up more lame-a** "their turn" candidates come 2012. If the Pubs don't gain seats in 2010, they are finish for a generation at the very least.
“Voting “no” on virtually all proposals might enable DeMint to win elections in South Carolina, but it won’t help moderates from states like Pennsylvania and California, Davis said. Indeed, longtime Republican Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania became a Democrat in April, saying there’s no longer room for moderates like him in the Republican Party.”
Whatta bunch of crap! Specter left the pubs cause he knew he was gonna get killed in the primary and that would end his career.
I miss the Old “Senator No”—Jesse Helms..sigh!
THey’ve got to actually run Conservative Candidates in every CD then, or at least (stealithly) supporting Independent Conservatives in districts which are “too Dem” where running as a Repub. would be suicide.
So do I. He fought at every turn against the encroaching socialism we now are experiencing, and he didn't give one sh**t about what the Lame Stream Media said about him. He just kept on keeping on. He was a man of conservative principles and major cojones. Where are similar Repubs?
Yes, but ain't going to happen. The Repubs are too locked into competing with the Democrat/socialists for minority votes and appeasement. The Pubs are a lost cause.
Unless some articulate, constitutionally dedicated candidate with charisma and true to conservative values arises out of nowhere and gets the attention of Centrist Voters, I don't see it happening. There are no Ronald Reagans on the horizon.
Palin has been too vilified. Jingle does have what it takes, but not as far as articulation. Pawlenty is also not the best communicator...and on it goes. Remember, centrist American voters want American Idol types to entertain them and make them "feel" good about their immediate gratification, rather what is best for the country in the long run.
OUR country's best chance is the momentum back to States Rights that is quickly building. I say let's support that movement, rather than questionable presidential/congressional nominees.
Let the States tell the Fedgov to go pound sand!!! Hey, socialist Congress, pass your unConstitutional bills; let Obami sign them; then let the Governors of the States say, "Try to enforce them!" It's time for civil disobedience by the States!
I say we do both, Navy Vet!! SERIOUSLY (we just need a conservative network, or Republicans to find and recruit candidates in every district where they don’t already exist..).
In 2008, the RINOs got the guy they wanted and he clearly ran as a moderate (actually, as an anti-conservative), it's hard to keep a straight face at the charge conservatives "hijacked the party and tarnished its image".
On the other hand, you certainly could say that about the RINOs...
Fine, you work on that, I will support States' Rights which looks to me to be our last best effort to defeat the Fedgov leviathan. The Pubs had their chance with a Pub presidency and congress - they blew it.
More power to you for trying, but I think you are wasting your time. There are no Ronald Reagan's on the horizon that can keep this state of ship from going around - it's happening almost weekly with the Obami/Reid/Pelosi socialist triad. Think States' rights and how much power that implies.
Just wanted to BUMP that to the top with a big AMEN.
It's my opinion the Fedgov would do nothing, but possibly bloviate against that State and possibly withhold Federal funds. The Congressional politicos are at their lowest approval ratings, and out of political survival would probably re-think their positions on many issues.
The 10th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America has not been repealed and is still the law of the land. The lawsuits are coming due to all the States who are re-asserting their rights! I never thought I would see this day. It's the one thing that still gives me hope...
