There are several curling clubs in Texas.

1. Houston
2. San Antonio
3. Austin
4. Dallas

Love the pipes but curling seems to combine the worst elements of shuffleboard, hockey, and house cleaning.

No he lived in northern Ohio for a couple years and saw it on Canadian TV and was hooked. lol I am sure if he had known there was a club in Dallas he would have gone!

There has been a curling club in since 2002.

We’re in NC now. My husband was long gone from TX by 2002.
He was in OH in the mid 70’s when he first got interested in it.

Looks like the Raleigh Curling Club has a Summer pick-up league. Might be a great way to try out the sport.

He’s never done this, what would he need in terms of equipment, clothes etc?

All equipment should be provided by the club (stones, slider, broom). What he’ll need is.....

Clean tennis shoes (rubber soles)
Sweat pants
T-shirt
Light jacket

Remember to stretch out a bit before playing.
