TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) President Barack Obama has appointed a Great Lakes czar to oversee the administration's initiative to restore the Lakes' environment.
Cameron Davis, president of the Chicago-based environmentalist group Alliance for the Great Lakes, will head the effort. The alliance announced the appointment Wednesday.

Dear Leader has appointed yet another Czar. This one will only cost $20,000,000.00.

Restore it to what? I hear the lakes are slowly draining as the land continues its uplift after being relieved of the burden of the glaciers.
Is the czar going to put more water into the lakes? Will the czar prevent the geological uplift? Perhaps he can accomplish both by restoring the mile-thick ice burden that existed 75,000 years ago.

What exactly needs to be cleaned up? Pretty much every industry along the lakes has been shut down decades ago by the unions, states or EPA. Or is this a good way to funnel money to corrupt Govts in Illinois, Michigan, etc?

I guess that makes sense, Obama knows a lot of environmentalists and they supported him all the time.

Report out this week Lake Erie water level is up 4" over normal. Shoreline erosion is going to be big problem this year.

For those of you not fortunate to live in a Great Lake state, let’s do a little geography/soci/economic explanation.
Obammay is gonna pay someone to tell Chicago to clean up their mess and stop sending their air pollution to Manistee. Milwaukee, and the greater Detroit area will also get their hands slapped. The places along the lake where people vacation are not polluted.
Basically, another boondoggle to help that scum magnet known as SE Michigan to clean up it’s own mess. Only now, we ALL get to pay for it!

Never mind the fact that the lakes are the healthiest they’ve been in some 35 years.

The only problem is that the mess we "scum" have produced doesn't exist.
