Never mind the fact that the lakes are the healthiest they’ve been in some 35 years.
When I left Syracuse there was a $20 million or so plan to clean up the lake and surrounding areas, to be (mostly?) paid for by Allied Signal when Solvay Process was shut down.
I don’t recall the specifics but I fail to see what there is to clean up there now.
