Text of President Barack Obama's speech to the Muslim world
Washington Examiner ^ | 06-04-2009 | Text

I know there are many — Muslim and non-Muslim — who question whether we can forge this new beginning. Some are eager to stoke the flames of division, and to stand in the way of progress. Some suggest that it isn't worth the effort — that we are fated to disagree, and civilizations are doomed to clash. Many more are simply skeptical that real change can occur. There is so much fear, so much mistrust. But if we choose to be bound by the past, we will never move forward.

I read it this morning. My quick synopsis: pretty good but did not go far enough. Too much focus on the “sins of the West” and “praise for Islam” and not enough calling them out for their failings. It was not an “Evil Empire” or “Tear down this wall” speech. No guts...no surprise...

He read words off a screen that someone else wrote. Obviously, he should rule the world.

The only thing missing from his speech was a table cloth on his head.

apostate muslim American president delivers speech in the birthplace of such pleasant organizations as the muslim brotherhood and the blind sheik.org. Will it be a parade ground setting and shades of 1981?

Well written. Kudos to his speech writer. Too much praise of Islam and exaggeration of its contributions. Not enough of the US. Stopped short of overt apologies for the US. Could have been worse but could have been much better. If he had been accurate it would have offended Muslims so maybe it’s all he could do.

Part of this conviction is rooted in my own experience. I am a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims. As a boy, I spent several years in Indonesia and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and the fall of dusk. As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith.

IF his daddy truly was BHO, Sr. then he did not COME "from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims" but WAS a Kenyan and a muslim.

A Christian??? I think not!

The HOLY BIBLE (KJB): I Corinthians 5:11-13
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

For what have I to do to judge them also that are without?
do not ye judge them that are within?

But them that are without God judgeth.
Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

I certainly cannot claim knowledge in regards to his drinking or fornicating, but I believe there is ample evidence to prove he is covetous and an idolater.
However, the most damning evidence against him is in the realm of extortioner!
ex·tor·tion (Äk-stôr'shÉ™n)n.
1. The act or an instance of extorting.
2. Illegal use of one's official position or powers to obtain property, funds, or patronage.
3. An excessive or exorbitant charge.

But if we choose to be bound by the past, we will never move forward.

And if we choose to ignore the 800-pound gorilla in the room, all our seeming smoothing of feathers at the price of our own national pride and dignity will result in worsening of muslim violence here and there. The gorilla is a metaphor for the ONE THING islam is waiting to hear from an American leader: "Abandon Israel". If that doesn't happen, the muslims will simply be more deranged than they ever were.

If, on the other hand, we DO say "Abandon Israel", and act on it, we are going to incur the wrath of the One True God.

as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed (peace be upon them) joined in prayer

Just wondering how many Christians or Jews here knew what "the story of Isra" was without looking it up. (I knew the story, but not by this name which is why I had to look it up.)

What a bigoted, culturally ignorant thing to post.

The correct terminology is "Dish Rag and Fan Belt".
