I somehow found myself on the white house email subscriber list (don’t worry i have since unregistered)
but I got an email from them about some ground breaking mid east speech.
I was curious so i clicked, immediately i was disappointed as the clip runs for about 55 minutes, and you know on youtube these days you have like 30 seconds to make a good impression.

Luckily.. after the first minute or so I was able to say with a fair amount of certainty that I caught most of the speech....

Sorry RT, that is a silly response. What is wrong with reaching out to the moderate Muslim world? They are not the ones who mean us harm. And they could possibly be a valuable resource in helping us contain and defeat Islamist extremism. Isn't that our goal?

No I am not an Obama as* kisser from DU. I am an American citizen who believes that we can not alienate a billion people because a very small percentage of them hate the US and all that it stands for. If we can persuade them to support our interests—or at the very least—not hinder our interests, than I believe we have the opportunity to better contain those elements that mean us harm.

We are in a war against global terrorism...if persuading the moderate Muslim world that it is in their best interest to support our goals, to assist us, to work with us to stamp out those who wish us harm, is that such a bad thing?
