An assault rifle, with close to a hundred rounds of ammunition, and other evidence were found in the trunk of a parolee's car.
The startling discovery makes police believe they may have prevented a tragedy.
An alert parole agent and city police just may have headed off a violent confrontation before it ever happened when they acted on their instincts and checked out the car of a former inmate when he came to check in with his parole agent, reported Fox 29s Dave Schratwieser.
When 29-year-old Alexander Rivera reported to his parole agent on Monday at 13th Street and Clearfield Street, the agent said Rivera was acting suspiciously so she locked him in a holding cell and went to search his car. Inside, she found a civilian version of the AK-47 assault rifle.
He's got that kind of weapon in his vehicle. He's going to see a parole officer while he's got this kind of stuff in the car. I mean, you know, for what? asks Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey.
The semiautomatic assault rifle and the 100 round drum magazine were found in the trunk along with a hoodie, a black mask, work gloves and Internet material on how to purchase a bulletproof vest. Rivera was arrested on the spot.
While parole officers were searching Rivera's car, one of his friends arrived on the scene and asked to take possession of the car. When police checked his car, they found drugs and another weapon.

Also this (possibly) related story. Little Rock Suspect Had Map To Philly
but but but the zerrhoids said we’d all “regain our standing in the world”...just make nice and all the bad stuff would magically melt away....like you know....your rent, gas and grocery bills.
No wonder the zerrhoid won’t say a thing about any soldier being killed (while lamenting the baby-killer), it’s all embarassing enough as it is.
I know liberals have as much shame as a chimp throwing crap in a zoo but...
Good thing I didn’t drive through Philli on the way to the range this past weekend. They would have loved my PTR91 with 6 loaded magazines, a couple hundred more rounds in boxes, my Saiga 12 with a loaded 20 round drum, and 200 rounds of shotgun shells. They would have had me labeled as a mass shooter caught before the act, and put me away for no good reason.
Of course this guy was on the way to see a parole agent, and doesn’t look a bit friendly. Being on parole, he probably wasn’t supposed to have the weapon with him in the first place.
What’s his Muslim name?
looks like a mooselimb!
I was going to ask if there were any other indications of a possible violent action by this individual - until I saw this photo. Never mind.
Imagine that......
All, while the TOTUS is across the pond, preparing his speech blaming the USA for pretty much everything that has ever happened in the history of the planet....
Son-of-a-.....
Amish on parole. Shocking.
Onoz! What the hell does somebody think they’re doing with an evil gunnnnnnnn and ammo in their vehicle in the birthplace of the Republic?
Dumb & dumber....... LMAO.
I was going to say "So?", until I got to the parole part. Everyone who is not a criminal, in Philadelphia and elsewhere, should have an assault rifle and at least 200 rounds of ammo, at least half of that in loaded magazines. (I've got enough mags to have 300 rounds in loaded mags, but only 550 rounds, with 500 more on back order, and that's only for the 5.56)
Probably? They don't do parole from misdemeanor sentences. Anyone with a felony conviction can not only not have firearms *with* them, they can't have them at all.
Kind of an unusual beard and facial features for a guy named Rivera. The University of Oklahoma suicide bomber looked a bit like that, except for the facial features.
OTOH, the Arkansas Killer Muslim's original first name was Carlos.
Too Jewish.
We are a muslim now, so it’s okay.
That's kind of what I was thinkin' too.
Not the brightest bulb in the lamp and his friend doesn’t sound very smart either. As for the parole officer screaming about him bringing the weapon to his check in meeting, so what? He’s not allowed to own weapons regardless of where he is. Maybe another Jihadi waiting to get his licks in.
Can I have it?
Those things go for big bucks!
