NEW YORK (Reuters) U.S. private employers chopped more than half a million jobs in May, signaling job conditions remain tough and dashing some hopes the economy was not deteriorating as rapidly as thought, a report on Wednesday showed.

If not ignored by the Drive Bys, we’ll hear, “Much better than expected. Could’ve been worse. Stimulus given credit for saving jobs.”
In other words, lies.
no wonder obama went out of the country....needs to shift attention.
the media will dutifully comply.
The media won’t ignore it they will just continue to say, as they have been saying since February of this year, that it is somehow a sign that things have bottomed out and the turn around is coming.
Economy Sheds 532,000 Jobs; Planned Layoffs Show Drop
U.S. companies axed 532,000 jobs last month, though this was fewer than the revised 545,000 jobs lost in April, according to the ADP National Employment Report. The April figure was originally a decline of 491,000.
In other words, the numbers for April were nearly 50,000 OFF! 50,000 more jobs were lost than first estimated. But at least May was better than April...of course, what will May's revised numbers be??
Note: we may not be able to blame BO for the wrong estimate in April...I think this survey is done by a private company. Until Obama tells them to shut down, of course.
“This decline in job cuts could be short-lived. The second quarter is typically the lowest quarter of the year when it comes to job cuts,” John A. Challenger, chief executive officer of Challenger, Gray & Christmas, said in the report.
“no wonder obama went out of the country....needs to shift attention.”
I believe that between he and Hilary and Geithner, they are merely canvasing the globe for potential buyers.
Can you say,”Major major depression in the offing?”
glimmers of hope!!!
Just think how bad it would have been if Obamessiah hadn’t saved a half a million jobs.
If President Bush was still in office - this information would be front page above the fold...
I see the business channels are painting a rosey picture for our future—this in light of much bad news.
Obama’s fault!
Challenger made the point on TV this morning that none of the Chrysler layoffs were counted in this report, and there will be “tens of thousands.”
It is a mercy that George Bush or a Republican is not still in office
If so, the media hype about the bad economic news, north korea, iran, pokkeyston, israel, pandemics, terrorism, etc etc etc would be unrelenting, people would be murdering their families and jumping off bridges and buildings every day
At least with the messiah in charge, the press is programmed to remind us that no matter what happens before our eyes
if unemployment tops 9% and grows, the big blue states go bankrupt, the Chinese laugh at our Treasury Secretary, US soldiers are shot on our streets, Americans keep quietly dying from a mysterious new flu, Congress plans its summer vacation while the Fed prints funny money night and day, North Korea aims missiles at Japan and Alaska, and airliners drop into the sea
NO WORRIES! A skittle-crapping unicorn is just about to emerge from the clouds on the horizon
We’ll continue to lose jobs until as late as 2011 when we should see an economic recovery starting to pick up steam.
