URGENT: OBAMA TO PROPOSE DIVIDING JERUSALEM :: Making The Holy City The Capital Of Palestine
Email From: http://www.JoelRosenberg.com ^ | May 20, 2009 | Joel C. Rosenberg

Posted on 06/02/2009 4:36:20 PM PDT by Iraqs Inconvenient Truth.

(Washington, D.C., May 20, 2009) — Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has just finished his visit to Washington. Full analysis on my weblog, including a link to the YouTube clip of me on Glenn Beck’s show with a former CIA analyst who says he wouldn’t care if Israel ceased to exist.

MUST WATCH:
Joel On The Glen Beck Show

That said, there’s more troubling news this morning. I’m horrified by credible reports that in his June 4th speech in Cairo, President Obama will say it is time to divide Jerusalem and make the holy city the capital of a Palestinian state.

No, Mr. President, it is not

Jerusalem is and should be the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish people and the Jewish state. Dividing Jerusalem will not make peace. Rather, it would send a message to every Radical Islamic jihadist around the world that Israel is weak, that the Jews won’t even defend the sovereignty of their own capital, that there is “blood in the water,” and that it is time to strike Israel and wipe her off the map. Dividing Jerusalem would trigger an apocalyptic war in the Middle East the likes of which the region has never seen.

I am committed to doing everything I possibly can to educate people — and particularly U.S. and Canadian evangelical Christians — to the threats facing Israel and the West due to Radical Islam, and to the biblical responsibility we have to show unconditional love and unwavering support to Israel and the Jewish people. We’ll use radio, TV, the internet, emails and other media to get the word out. But we can’t do it alone. We want and need your help.

One idea: let’s build an alliance of one million true friends of Israel — people who love Israel, are committed to blessing her in real and practical ways, are absolutely opposed to dividing Jerusalem, and will pray faithfully for the peace of Jerusalem and the protection of all the people of the epicenter.

Currently, we have 100,000 subscribers to our Flash Traffic email updates who are committed to this cause. If each of us recruited just 10 new friends to sign up for Flash Traffic and be part of this alliance, we would be able to communicate new information, new projects, and new prayer requests to them instantly. We would be able to mobilize people for pro-Israel events. We would be able to mobilize people to write to President Obama and their Congressional leaders to stand with Israel, not against her. We would be able to work together to stockpile food, clothing, medical supplies and other aid in Israel ahead of the next war. And we would be able to encourage one another with the knowledge that we are not alone in this important fight.

Will you join us?

For more on President Obama’s plan to divide Jerusalem — and to read analysis of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit:

COME TO ISRAEL AND ATTEND THE “JERUSALEM PRAYER SUMMIT”

Israel has never needed the unconditional love and unwavering support of evangelical Christians more than she does today. Yes, Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas are making threats. But the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is a great and mighty God. He is calling us to bless Israel and show her our love in a real and practical way.

That’s why we are moving forward with The Joshua Fund’s next “Prayer & Vision Trip,” and we would love for you to join us. It will be held November 5-17, 2009, and culminate in our first-ever “Jerusalem Prayer Summit.”

And now, by God’s grace, we have been able to reduce the price by $600 per couple.

If you have never been to the Holy Land, it is hard to describe what a profound spiritual effect such a journey can have on you and your family. You may have heard others say God’s Word seemed to “come alive” in a new way when they walked where Jesus walked, from the shores of Galilee to the Mount of Olives and into the streets of Jerusalem. Well, it’s true, and I believe our 2009 Israel trip will allow you to experience this for yourself and intensify your desire to walk closely with Jesus Christ.

If you have been to Israel before, this trip will be a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of how powerfully the Lord is moving there. I will teach at key locations and answer your questions about the future of the epicenter. You will have the opportunity to meet with and pray for local pastors and ministry leaders. We are arranging for you to spend time engaged in a practical Joshua Fund ministry project to bless the poor and needy. What’s more, you will participate in a two-day conference to pray for the peace of Jerusalem at this critical hour.

We can take up to 300 people, and to make your experience as personal and special as possible, you will be assigned to one of seven buses of about 45 people. Each bus will be hosted by a Joshua Fund staff or board member or couple, or one of our close allies. You will ride that bus with your host every day, and in the process you’ll get to know the people on your bus, study the Bible with them, pray with and for them, discover Israel together with them, ask questions with them, and thus form a small community. Lord willing, I will rotate through the buses to get to know you and answer your questions. Each bus will also have a professional, licensed Israeli tour guide who know every detail of the country inside and out.

Please click the link below, learn more, pray about it, and then — if the Lord gives you the green light — please sign up and come with us, while there is still space.

As always, we will do our best to keep you up-to-date on the kinds of projects we are doing, and brief you on how those projects are proceeding. We will also let you know about the kinds of projects we are developing for the future. In no way do we want to pressure anyone to give financially. We fully believe the Lord will provide for the needs of the people we seek to serve. But if you or others wish to help, we welcome your support, and all financial gifts are tax-deductible.

If you would like to make a contribution to the on-going work of The Joshua Fund please make your check payable to “The Joshua Fund” and send to:

The Joshua Fund

Thanks so much and may the Lord richly bless you and your family as you bless Israel and her neighbors in the name of Jesus — especially at critical moment in history of the epicenter.

I know how you feel about Christians voting for Obama. Three of my close friends that I went to school with voted for him and I was so upset with them. Talk about deception.

Your words - classic Premillennialism actually has a way around this, but Dispensationalism IMO does not. And now you just said you DON'T think they (classic premillennialists) have one. Confused!

Neither has a way around the world getting worse and worse. The "way around" I was referring to earlier is this: in some formulations, the world does not begin getting worse until after the Rapture. The Church in fact experiences growth and influence over the culture-at-large in the here-and-now. Their victories are what restrains evil and prevents the Tribulation. The Rapture removes this restraint, and only then does the world begin worsening, kicking off the Tribulation. Under this type of scenario, the Church has no way of knowing or predicting when the Tribulation will come. Unfortunately, this view fails to sell a lot of books.

The BIBLICAL

SIGNS OF THE TIMES from Mat 24 as well as a list of other Scriptures

are NOT that difficult to read, comprehend, make sense out of and WATCH FOR THEIR OCCURRENCE IN THE SAME ERA.

THIS ERA IS THE ONLY ONE IN THE LAST 2000 YEARS IN WHICH SUCH HAVE BEGUN TO BE FULFILLED, OCCUR EN MASSE, WHOLESALE.

NO amount of straw dogs, denial and dancing around on preterist, amil, post mil pointed heads will change those BIBLICAL AND WORLD EVENTS FACTS.

To: Quix; All
Still praying for you as well Quix, and for other friends in need. Thank you for your prayers. Today seems to be a "good day" for me as well -- PRAISE GOD for the respite however long it lasts!!! :)

It seems to me things are gearing up in many ways — both in our political and secular world, but an amazing number of Christians are being hit by many very agonizing, painful experiences at this moment (tests of faith, temptations to sin, etc...). I'm not talking about the old adage of death comes in threes, either. I'm talking about many feeling as if they are being hit on all sides. That to me speaks of an intensifying spiritual battle taking place as well.

To share one more part of my vision, and this was directly from St. Michael to me, but I have adapted it in this post so that others can hear the wisdom for themselves... I do not remember the entire conversation, only parts of it. What I do remember seems to be the most important parts, or only those related to my mortal life here on Earth.

[Emphasis added to reflect intonation of important words]
****
We are only HUMAN. We cannot take the problems of the world upon our shoulders. There is no man who can do that. We can HELP though. [And by that he meant to me that I can help GOD and HIM in his duties as the leader of God's Army — not in any strange way, but through PRAYER, and ASKING for God's intervention - LR]. However, we must NEVER FORGET GOD AND HIS ANGELS. THEY are our FRIENDS. And we must think of them that way.
*****

More after years of pondering these things that I've gleaned from what I remember, and my personal beliefs regarding Angels: When Michael spoke of God and the Angels as being our FRIENDS, it meant that we are NEVER ALONE, EVER in our struggles.

That we must NEVER forget that — feeling alone, and as if God does not hear us (as many feel if they think he's not “answering quickly enough”) — is truly a way that assists Satan in his goals towards a human’s soul. [Remember also that God has NEVER, EVER not answered a prayer — it's just that sometimes the answer is NO, MAYBE, TRY AGAIN LATER — and, being humans with selfish desires at times feel that sometimes that's not enough for us, we want what we want, and God as our Father (as any parent does) sometimes says no — especially when what you think may be good for you will not be in the end...

Another point I would like to make — it is my impression (not from direct recall) that OUR PRAYERS help the Angels in their fight with the demons. Our praise, and worship of God gives them EXTRA strength, and it is in THAT way that we can assist in the Spiritual Battles that go on around us everyday whether we are aware of them or not.

Now, as I said in a previous post, people may choose to believe none of what I've said. I will never claim to be a “prophet”, nor have I ever claimed to know WHEN the things I saw would happen. I searched my memory for some kind of indicator, and indeed I've seen times over the last 7 years where I was SURE these things may happen very soon, only to be wrong... (Only God knows for sure if and when these things I saw will happen...).

It would be easy for me to say right now (and with honesty) that the man I have seen that most looks like the man in my vision (see previous post) is Bibi — at the time he wasn't in any position to make such an order, or decision so I dismissed it, but who expected him to again be the Head of State in Israel? I could say that now with him in charge and with the news of the day regarding Iran, something like “Oh I know, it's going to be him, and the city is going to be in Iran”, but I recognize this as a likely theory for many people right now and “easy” educated guess so to speak! LOL

- - - - - AN IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR SCIENTISTS AND MEMBERS OF THE MILITARY, OR THOSE FAMILIAR WITH NUCLEAR ARMS AND SUCH:

One thing that seems important right now, and I am not educated in these things so I won't pretend to know for sure, but consider the following theory — and I definitely hope those with some insight might help out here...

If Israel were to order the bombing of a known Iranian nuclear facility of some sort, or if Iran has nuclear warheads already stored somewhere, or in the process of construction... If those buildings/facilities were hit with conventional NON-Nuclear weapons, could it still cause a nuclear explosion, or set-off the existing warheads in the facility that was hit? Would it then appear as like what I saw — a “traditional” mushroom cloud explosion?

There is a fear I have right at the moment that if Israel even conducted a non-nuclear bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities it could result in a nuclear explosion, and the world would totally turn against Israel for using a nuclear weapon when they really hadn't. Israel's protests would fall on deaf ears (as most do...), and any type of proof offered would either be ignored, or seen as some type of fraudulent cover-up.

Is what I described above even a scientifically plausible situation? A conventional bomb/missile setting off a nuclear missile that was either in the process of being put together, or set off fissionable materials that were being prepared for a bomb?

I don't know enough about nuclear warhead manufacturing obviously to know at what stage the above scenario would be a possibility, if at all. Or, if a facility containing a weapon being bombed could indeed “set-off” the reaction necessary for a nuclear explosion? [I think everyone familiar with movies and such knows how they talk about a nuclear missle needing to be “armed” or ready to be operational in order to do it's job.] I guess we should also take into account that even though the Iranians are working on nuclear things, and undoubtedly they are using good scientists (probably educated HERE in the U.S.), and are receiving help from Russia, and North Korea, the need to hide their militaristic intentions regarding their nuclear activities might decrease the safety factor overall for storage and such of these devices if they do now have them, so that may figure into the above theory as well. Without proper storage, it would be my guess that this could make the above theory more plausible...

I guess the above is for the scientists and military/veterans among us — if it's information they would be allowed to share, of course. It's just that “I've got a bad feeling about this” to borrow a very over-used Star Wars quote!

- - - - - -
At any rate — God bless Israel and her People, and God bless the true church of all believers as well. We may all experience some of the retribution against this country, if this is truly the times John spoke of — however, he will NOT forsake His children, even if he removes some sort of protection from our nation as a state entity. It worries me when I hear people speak of God taking away his hand of protection from this country if we go against Israel (IMHO, it's pretty clear to me that Obama has already done this in word if not in deed yet, there is talk in the media of a supposed promise made to the Palestinians in a meeting with the Saudi leader - a week or two ago (not today) that Palestine WOULD have it's own nation, and Jerusalem would be the capitol.)

While I understand completely what is meant by God taking his hand off protection off the United Staes, it worries me that neophyte believers may take this to mean God has forsaken ALL of us — and that will NEVER, EVER be the case... It is a PROMISE to all believers, and even those who have turned their back on HIM - that He will NEVER turn his back on us as His children...

OK, time for me to get some stuff done around the house, and come back to this (especially re-reading what you've posted above Quix! I'd like to read the whole thread as it's fascinating the bits I've seen so far...).

Incidentally, I happen to be reading one of Joel's fictional books right now - very interesting reading to be sure. I haven't read his non-fictional books, but look forward to reading them someday soon (they are always checked out already at the library! LOL).

And Jesus answering saith unto them, "Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall watch the mountain groweth before him until it fills the whole earth, even unto crushing all the saints beneath it, yet yeah verily ye will declareth victory over whatsoever ye saith until death.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and keep ye deluding yourselves until that day when I will return unto you, and finally accomplish Myself what ye could not do in My Name."

This is how I see it, and why I feel dispensationalism is a distortion of the text. A lot of this you of course know, but bear with me, thanks.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has always been about grace, even when the means through which He demonstrated it was the law. In essence, the Israelites were shown grace in that they were not required to personally pay for their sins but were permitted a substitutionary sacrifice...just as with Messiah. But unlike Messiah, it was imperfect, because it wasn’t once for all. But it looked forward to and was a sign of that eventual permanence.

Further, the law has not been abolished; it still exemplifies the perfect standard that God requires, even though He has further revealed His ultimate plan to demonstrate His grace through Messiah, the once for all sacrifice. As Jesus Himself said, He came not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it, and He kept it perfectly while in human form here on earth. If anything, He clarified and enriched it by teaching that following it originates in the heart, that man’s intent is every bit as important as his subsequent actions.

God’s plan has never changed, simply His revelation of it, and He therefore does not have different means of dealing with different groups of people. Only one means, that being Messiah, the perfect fulfillment of the sacrificial system, perfect requirement for the wages of sin. Those wages have always been the same - a blood covering, or death.

Hence I don’t believe for a second that “the church is removed so God can once again deal with Israel” or that the means of His dealings will be the law (except as it has always been - a means to point toward Messiah). In a way, the “church” has always existed. Do a word study on the word ekklesia and you will find that the very first ekklesia was Wilderness Israel.

Therefore is modern Israel that body? Not in their current state. Modern Israel is mostly secular and largely non-observant and certainly not messianic. Their blindness, largely for our benefit, actually began way back in Isaiah 6:10, as a result of their unbelief. Isaiah asks how long it will last, and God says, until the cities are laid waste, the land utterly desolate and men are removed far away - the diaspora.

But after that, their regathering, as has been happening in earnest for a hundred years - in unbelief, mind you, as prophesied - is the catalyst for their ultimate redemption. God has never stopped “dealing with” Israel; He’s been working with them all along to eventually fulfill His word. Will they all be saved, as Paul states in Romans 11? In a way, yes - there will be a remnant from all the tribes. Just as there was always a remnant of true believers throughout history, just as there is today.

We are joined to their tree, remember (again Rom 11). We share in their inheritance - again, through grace it was extended to the gentile nations (and gentiles have always been allowed to join the congregation of historical Israel - they just had to follow the One True God - this is noted over and over in the Torah).

And there was a body of Israelite and gentile believers long before that day on Pentacost, a body of living and dead who likely looked upon the unfolding events of the first century and said, “OH! THAT’S what He meant!” :) Abraham is dead in Christ. Noah is dead in Christ, as are Enoch and Abel (Heb 11). No doubt many other gentiles who joined to the original ekklesia of Israel (such as Rahab and Ruth) are dead in Christ. Their belief in a future redemption, as outlined in Hebrews 11, covers them, just as our looking back at that redemption and believing it covers us.

(Therefore I also don’t believe in the concept of Old Testament saints either, who have to wait til after the rest of us are resurrected. There is one resurrection of believers, not phases of it.)

Even Job, who offered burnt sacrifices to YHWH, knew his ultimate future -

Job 19:25-26, “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God.”

During the 70th week, God will pour out His final redemptive entreaties upon the whole world, including Israel, in the same way for all, in the same way He always has.

Sorry I’m so long-winded. I find this to be heady exciting stuff. :)

Oh, wait, one more thing, and this was key for me - the new covenant is found easily a dozen times in the Old Testament, and always promised to Israel. Even in the oft-cited passage of Jeremiah 31 we find that the covenant is promised first to the houses of Israel and Judah. A study on this subject, and its profound implications, is simply incredible.

Great points.

NO, not remotely normally. Nukes are designed to go off with great precision when every detail is sequentially met at the point of detonation.

There, in some rare cases, could be leakage and spread of nuclear material. But even that is minimized as a likelihood by enormously carefully designed shielding etc. etc. etc.

Hitting a nuke bomb directly with a conventional bomb would not trigger a nuclear explosion.

. . . unless . . . the nuke was designed to do that. None in the Western world are. None known about in the rest of the world are. Such would be tooooo dangerous to handle for the home team.

At least . . . that’s what I understand from my friend who worked with such.

I was of the understanding that classic premillennialism believes in a post-trib rapture, not a pretrib one.

Like I said earlier, the church flourishes best in persecution. And believers are always victorious because of the adversarial conditions through which they live and testify and often die. Their victory is a spiritual one, not a temporal one. It finds itself in eternal reward, not in cultural or societal reward, which is fleeting.

The world has been getting worse since the dawn of time and will continue to do so until He comes - otherwise, why should He bother? He comes as a rescuer, a conquering king who puts down rebellion once and for all. Jesus said, about the church, that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it, not the gates of earth. On the contrary, He said, in this world you WILL have tribulation.

One more thing - I don’t believe either that the church is the restrainer.

Thanks for the post Cranked..(and everyone)

You are EXACTLY right! It has never worked and it will never work.

Fortunately Benjamin Netanyahu has ALWAYS understood this.

He “GET’S IT...

He is the right Prime Minister Of Israel...And the USA should be exceeding glad he is in power.

I do not know what it was...but I knew 3 - 4 years ago that he would get “re-elected” as Israel’s PM for the second time.

Right man...”For a time such as this”!
