Another 'Black Man Did It' Hoax Sparks Outrage

PHILADELPHIA — It's an old lie, claiming that The Black Man Did It.

But it was trotted out again last week when a white mother from suburban Philadelphia said two black men snatched her and her 9-year-old daughter from their SUV and abducted them in the trunk of a black Cadillac.

Blacks across the country were outraged after Bonnie Sweeten was found in a luxury hotel at Disney World. Authorities quickly unraveled the hoax, but not before an Amber Alert, frantic searches and national news coverage that played into images of marauding black men.

Racial boundaries are slowly dissolving in America, with President Barack Obama the most obvious example. Yet Sweeten's story, plus the killing of a black New York City cop by a white officer days later, was a reminder that old ideas remain burned into many minds both black and white.

Sweeten's story has provoked an outpouring of discussion among blacks, everywhere from doctor's offices to blogs. Syndicated radio host Warren Ballentine said his listeners are "furious, and they're disgusted. ... On a scale of one to 10, it's a 15."

"Their hope was that by Obama becoming president, the rest of America would take a look at black Americans and look at us for who we are and not what a stereotype is," he said.

For some reason you forgot to mention Susan Smith, the white woman who strapped her children into their car seats and then pushed the car into a lake. Susan then said that a black man kidnapped her children. Tawanna and Chrystal are saints when compared to that evil white Susan Smith.

You are missing one hugely valid point. The black women accused actual white men, men with names, men who were charged and went through hell. The murdering bitch who drowned her children did not point out a specific black person but used a mythical character, no black was charged, no black was put through months of torture after being falsely accused. Yep, Susan Smith was a monster but so were the two black women who tried to send innocent men to jail and forever smeared their names in the eyes of some people.

Get back to me when Tawanna and Chrystal strap babies in car seats and push that car into a lake leaving the babies to watch feel and cry as the water in the car rises, above their toes, above their knees, above their wastes, above their chests, above their necks and into their mouths & noses and fills their lungs.

Just another evil woman just like Andrea Yates who also drowned her children.

And this woman in Pennsylvania should also go to prison.

BS, Tawana and the Chrystal are just as bad as the baby killer. If they had succeeded in their little plots innocent men would have went to prison and there is a good chance they would have died there. If you can't see that, I feel sorry for you. He** the prosecutor in the Duke case wasn't going to give up on trying them even when he had incontrovertible proof the Duke guys were totally innocent.

As it is they will always have that crap hanging over their heads. Oh, yeah, and if you want to pursue that line what about the several cases last year of black people saying they were threatened with nooses, implying white people did it, and it turned out later that they put the nooses up themselves. That's ok though, ritht? because it is alright for black people to blame mythical white perps but not the other way around.

To paraphrase you: Get back to me when you figure out that blaming mythical perps isn't as bad as blaming real, live people who face a life of misery for something they didn't do. Killing babies is terrible, jailing innocent men is just as terrible, both ways lives have been stolen.

That is an interesting view for a person who actually believed that Ashley Todd was attacked and mutilated by a black man simply because she had a McCain bumper sticker.

So, it would appear that you easily fall for hoaxes if in fact the alleged perpetrator is black.

And while I condemn the actions of Tawana and Chrystal, they are not baby killers as Andrea Yates and Susan Smith. Instead, they are more like the racist psychopaths Ashley Todd and Bonnie Sweeten .
