This is a military purchase. If it also has commercial benefits for China, they’ll take that as gravy.

OK, that makes this a little easier to take.

Well the Chinese did need to do something with all that lead they have been mining! Oh and don’t forget about all that cardboard! Now they have another outlet for it - other than the noodles, pork, beef and chicken they have been making it into.

Well that’s one way to kill off the Hummer’s.

Why should China shrink the Hummer? - they don't care about carbon footprints.

Heck, they'll drop a coal burner in it!

GM never sold the AM General division(which makes the humvee) to the Chinese. Totally different vehicle.

So, is it considered “racist” if a Photoshopper puts slanted headlights on an H3 photo? LOL ...

Nah, Hyundai already did that with their Santa Fe line...

The UAW can ask Africans who “work” for the Chinese in Africa what it is like. The Chinese beat and starve them - awful to work for. The UAW deserves what the Chinese will dish out. China and the Saudis will buy up America thanks to Pelosi/Reid/Obama NO Energy policy.

To be built in China, no doubt.

“No problem. China is our friend and greatest trading partner.”

I once feared the Chinese, in an era before Obama. At that time, I feared losing liberty. Post Obama, in an America that is hurtling toward restricting liberty more than China, what is to fear?
If somehow the Chinese took over, I’m not quite sure we’d notice much of a difference.

I will say this as politely as I can.

You offend me.

And my country as well.

LOL! You gotta include a pic of Abbott and Costello with that dialog... :0)

Costello:"You don't know his name?
Abbott:"Well I should."
Costello:"Well then who owns Hummer?"
Abbott:"Yes."
Costello:"I mean the fellow's name."
Abbott:"Who."
Costello:"The owner of the company"
Abbott:"Hu."
Costello:"The big guy."
Abbott:"Hu."
Costello:"The guy running..."
Abbott:"Hu owns the company!"
Costello:"I'm asking YOU who owns the company."
Abbott:"That's the man's name."
Costello:"That's who's name?"
Abbott:"Yes."
Costello:"Well go ahead and tell me."
Abbott:"That's it."
Costello:"That's who?"
Abbott:"Yes."

How can a fleet of Hummers meet CAFE standards?

No...but wait:

Chinese manufacturer of Hummers: You won't allow the import of our Hummers?

US Govt: No!

Chinese Govt: We are selling our T-Bills!

US Govt: Oh, just a second..fixed that. Your OK now!

GM has never owned AM General - it came out of American Motors and was sold to LTV before Chrysler bought Am. Motors. It’s now part of a private investment firm called The Renco Group, based out of NYC.

This is a military purchase.

No, it's a brand name purchase. Hummer does not make our military vehicles ... these are merely Tahoe SUVs and Colorado trucks with different bodies on them. And now the Chinese will do their own thing with them.

they could put some ninja warriors on it.

That would be Japan:). The new Mao Hummer will be offered in yellow, red and Mandarin orange. It will be even larger than before so that you can use it to run over dissidents and peasants on bicycles.

But seriously it was a Chinese general who taught know your enemy, know yourself, and you will fight a hundred battles and never loose. They are showing that they know us. In the era of the plastic Obamamobile with its two cycle engine and no passenger safety, Americans will be rushing out to buy big armored Hummers, regardless of who owns the company. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chinese just move the factory to a right to work state and keep making the ones for US consumption here. They will produce those for export to the rest of the world in China. Perfect for service in Africa and South America where China is setting up colonies as we speak. They are now fools. They took the one part of GM that gave them something they could use and make money with.
