FCC: America’s New Speech Police [Obama Trying to Silence Talk Radio]
Big Hollywood ^ | June 1, 2009 | Brian Jennings

At the heart of the controversy is conservative talk radio. Arbitron’s new PPM measurement system is showing that conservative talk is even more popular in the nation’s largest markets than previous measurements have shown while minority targeted stations are less popular. But, the PPM doesn’t lie. This is a pager-like device that the listener wears. It registers whatever radio station is being heard in real time and encodes that information into a data base. It is the most accurate means of measuring true listening habits ever devised.

But minority stations are crying foul and we have a government that grabs its ankles in our politically-correct American culture. Like many polling companies, Arbitron chooses its respondents based on landline access and minorities are claiming many in their ranks only use cellphones and are thereby disadvantaged and not fully represented in sampling statistics.

Private radio business needs federal interference because not enough minorities have landlines and thus would not be chosen by Arbitron? How can we be expected to follow this ridiculous logic, and when can we stop patronizing minorities, treating them like helpless dummies?

How much will we let him get away with?

Arbitron paid us money to tell them what we listen to. It was their ‘gift’ to us. Bought a fast food lunch.

"when can we stop patronizing minorities, treating them like helpless dummies?"

When the minorities decide to stop milking the system for all they can get.

As in, "never".

I always think it is funny when groups of, for and by blacks and of, for and by Hispanics start screaming about racism in everyone else....

We need to keep the spark going! This must be stopped. It’s our precious right of free speech.

I think it is self-racist to constantly act like a victim and be on the take, while praising your own “pride” in your ethnicity. Pride is in an accomplishment. There is nothing to be proud of for being born [a color or orientation].
