The Huffington Post take on the Black Muslim shooting at the Arkansas recruiting office
Huffington Post ^ | June 1, 2009 | Huffington Post

Excerpt:

At my bible study there are men who believe all Muslims are going straight to hell. One of them has a son in the Air Force and gets shot at regularly flying into Baghdad.

Of course I usually stick up for Islam, saying 99.999% of Muslims are good people, peace loving, and just want a warm home, food, and education for their kids like the rest of us. I argue the Muslim fundamentalists are no different than the Christian fundamentalists, like that nutcase that killed Tiller.

The sheer volume of Muslim violence, against Christians, against the US, against each other...it keeps going up and up. It's getting harder and harder to defend their faith as valid, and a good basis for someone's life. Equal to Christianity. I don't think "Love thy enemy" is in their book, maybe someone can enlighten me.

This latest killing won't make it any easier for folks like me, who try not to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few.

Without "Love thy enemy" families, tribes, cities, entire nations escalate violence and revenge into warfare. Look at Israel and the Palestinians --- both sides utterly doomed to unending violence. What Jesus taught --- love thy neighbor, love thy enemy....without people willing to obey that teaching there seems to be no hope for most peoples. And I include those FALSE Christians like George W. Bush who use Christianity as an excuse to go to war, claiming "God spoke to him"....

What percentage of Muslims come to the defence of non-Muslims?

Wierd. Even DU has people making some sense as well:

“These two incidents (terrible as the are) do serve the purpose of illustrating a very troubling double standard around here. Namely that too many here are perfectly willing to brand all Christians with the deeds of a few, but would never dare do the same with muslims.”

Nice of the bonehead who wrote it to drag Israel down to the level of the benighted followers of the mass-murdering pedophile.

So, we have all pro-life christians are evil because a nut job killed an abortionist but all Muslims are good because one of them killed an army recruit and wounded another. Got it, no hypocrisy in this article, no siree.

I never had any doubt that

HUFF PUFF HUFFINGTON

learned their editorializing from agents directly from hell.

Which is probably fitting . . . given where they’re headed.

"99.999% of Muslims are good people, peace loving..."

Certainly, I would like to see the author of this comment provide some background statistics to support this claim.

Lacking that, I would suspect that the correct number is closer to the inverse. Especially since we have seen that so many "moderate muslims", support the jihadi's financially and emotionally. They are only "moderate", in that they don't blow themselves up. They just support the jihadi's who do blow themselves up.

Not my definition of "peace-loving".

The Huffington Post and MSNBC most likely agitated and incited this black muslim into killing an innocent soldier. They never stop trashing the military and they keep reporting that the military is torturing muslims at Gitmo.

The sad thing is, like the many MANY Muslim attacks and invasions on Europe for hundreds of years prior to the crusades, only the Christian violence is reported and written about in schools.

A voice of reason at DU? Is Hell freezing over, or am I living in an alternate universe?

Heres another hell frozen over from DU:

“the double standards on both sides are telling.

as are the preconceptions.

consider that in all the threads prior to this opining about the possible motivations of the shooter, i heard it all - disgruntled vet etc. OVER AND OVER

but no (that i recall) suspicions that he might be a muslim terrorist.

both sides have their biases.”

Look at Israel and the Palestinians --- both sides utterly doomed to unending violence.

WIt reminds me of the moral equivalence of the cold war, where we were equally guilty. Supposedly the commies were forced to brandish their weaponry to prevent our destroying them.

Then one day the commies disintegrated and dropped all their weapons. And the West attacked!

Well, not really. It turns out that when the East dropped their weapons, the Cold War was suddenly over. The two sides weren't equal contributors to the standoff.

Similarly, the only reason for the unending violence in the MR is that Muslims won't accept Israel. Were Muslims to stop attacking tomorrow, the "endless cycle" would suddenly end.

“At this point,” LRPD Chief Stuart Thomas said, “we believe that it’s associated with his disagreement over military operations. We believe that primarily it is a religious disagreement, and that he has a dislike for military personnel and military actions.”

Just when I thought the author was beginning to see the big picture, Bush Derangement Syndrome rears its ugly head. There are always exceptions to the rules when liberals are blinded by rage and hatred.
